Aave v4 changes how Aave is built: liquidity sits in hubs, and borrowing happens in spokes, separate markets that draw on a hub's liquidity under their own limits and risk settings. It went live on Ethereum in March 2026. This dashboard follows its growth: deposits and loans in each hub and spoke, the assets listed and how its size compares with Aave v3 on Ethereum.

Every figure is read from the v4 contracts' own events and state at a pinned block. Hubs record liquidity added and drawn; spokes record supply, borrow, repay and liquidation; configuration events record each listing or cap change. Values use oracle prices at the same block, so v4 and v3 are compared on the same footing.

### Overview

- **Deposits on v4** (USD): Assets supplied to Aave v4 across every hub at the latest daily block.
- **Loans on v4** (USD): Assets borrowed through every v4 spoke at the same block.
- **Assets listed** (count): Assets listed on at least one v4 hub at the latest daily block.
- **v4 share of Aave on Ethereum** (%): Aave v4 deposits as a share of Aave v4 and v3 Ethereum deposits together.
- **v4 and v3 deposits by day** (USD): Aave v4 deposits and loans by day since launch, beside Aave v3 deposits on Ethereum.

### Hubs and spokes

Each hub's deposits and each spoke's loans, assets and caps.

- **Hubs** (count): Aave v4 hubs live on Ethereum at the latest daily block.
- **Spokes** (count): Spokes connected to at least one hub at the same block.
- **Deposits by hub** (USD): Deposits split by hub at the latest daily block.
- **Spokes compared**: Every spoke with its hub, assets, supplied, borrowed, utilization, caps and liquidations over the period.
- **Listings and cap changes**: Asset listings, cap changes and other configuration events on hubs and spokes, with their blocks.

Filters: Hub (Every Aave v4 hub, or all); Period (Last 30 or 90 days, or since launch).

## How it will be measured

- Hub figures come from hub liquidity events on Ethereum, liquidity added, removed, drawn and restored, checked against each hub's totals at the first block after 00:00 UTC.
- Spoke figures come from spoke supply, withdraw, borrow, repay and liquidation events, aggregated per spoke and asset.
- Asset listings and caps are read from hub and spoke configuration events and shown with the block at which each change took effect.
- The comparison with v3 uses Aave v3 Ethereum aToken totalSupply at the same blocks, and every amount is valued with Chainlink latestRoundData there.

## Data it needs

- `lending_markets_daily` (to build): Supply, borrow, utilization and rates per lending market (Aave, Morpho, Spark, Compound, Euler and others) at day end.
- `liquidations` (to build): Every liquidation on major lending markets and perp venues: collateral seized, debt repaid, liquidator, and the price at the time.
- `native_prices_daily` (to build): Reference prices of major assets read from on-chain oracle feeds (Chainlink latestRoundData) at each day's last block, with each round's update time.

## Questions

### What is Aave v4?

The fourth version of the Aave lending protocol. It separates liquidity from borrowing: hubs hold supplied assets, and spokes are markets that lend from a hub under their own rules, so new markets can share liquidity without sharing every risk.

### What are hubs and spokes in Aave v4?

A hub is a pool of liquidity for a set of assets. A spoke is a lending market connected to one or more hubs, with its own collateral, limits and risk settings. Suppliers' funds sit in the hub, and borrowers interact through spokes.

### When did Aave v4 launch?

Aave v4 went live on Ethereum mainnet in March 2026, with a limited set of assets and conservative limits at first. The dashboard starts its history at the first v4 block it reads.

### Is Aave v3 still running?

Yes. Aave v3 markets keep running alongside v4, and users move funds between them at their own pace. The comparison on this dashboard shows how much has moved.

### Is Aave v4 on other chains?

At launch it ran on Ethereum only. If governance approves it on another chain, the dashboard adds that chain's hubs and spokes as rows of their own.

- **Hub**: In Aave v4, the contract that holds supplied liquidity for a set of assets and lends it to connected spokes.
- **Spoke**: In Aave v4, a lending market connected to a hub, with its own collateral rules, limits and risk settings.
- **Cap**: A limit on how much of an asset can be supplied or borrowed in a hub or spoke, set by governance.
