Abstract is an Ethereum layer 2 for consumer apps, built by Igloo Inc., the company behind Pudgy Penguins, on ZKsync's ZK Stack. It launched its mainnet in January 2025 and charges gas in ETH. Because ZK Stack chains have account abstraction built in, every account on Abstract can be a smart contract, and apps can pay their users' gas through paymasters.

Most people arrive through the Abstract Global Wallet, a smart contract wallet created with an email or social login and used across Abstract apps. This dashboard counts daily activity, new Global Wallets and the share of transactions whose gas a paymaster covered, and ranks the apps people use, so sign-ups, sponsored activity and paid activity can be told apart.

- **Fees paid** (ETH): Fees paid in ETH on the latest complete day, by users and paymasters together.
- **Active apps** (count): Labelled apps with at least one active account on the latest complete day.
- **Accounts by app category** (count): Active accounts per day by app category: games, collectibles, trading and social.
- **Top apps**: Apps ranked by distinct active accounts in the period, with transactions and the share of their gas sponsored.

Filters: Period (Last 30 days, 90 days or since January 2025).

## How it will be measured

- Transactions and active accounts are counted from Abstract's blocks per UTC day, counting each smart account that executed a transaction as active.
- Global Wallets are accounts deployed through the Abstract Global Wallet's factory; new ones per day are counted from those deployments.
- A transaction counts as sponsored when a paymaster paid its fee, read from the transaction's paymaster field and the paymaster's balance change.
- Apps are ranked by distinct accounts calling their labelled contracts per day, grouped into games, collectibles, trading and social.

## Data it needs

- `chain_activity_daily` (to build): Transactions, active sending addresses, new addresses, contracts created and gas used on each chain per day, counted from blocks and transactions.
- `chain_fees_daily` (to build): Fees paid per chain per day in the native token: base fee and priority fee percentiles, total fees, and the share burned where the chain burns fees.
- `account_abstraction_daily` (to build): ERC-4337 UserOperations, bundlers and paymasters, and EIP-7702 delegations per chain per day.
- `address_labels` (to build): Labels for known addresses: exchanges, bridges, protocols, funds, treasuries, sanctioned addresses and known attackers.
- `native_prices_daily` (to build): Reference prices of major assets read from on-chain oracle feeds (Chainlink latestRoundData) at each day's last block, with each round's update time.
