**Question:** How many transactions and active addresses does BNB Chain have each day?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Layer 1 chains](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/chains)
- Chains: BNB Chain
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

BNB Chain carries a wide mix of activity, from DEX trading and token launches to stablecoin transfers and games. This dashboard counts its daily transactions and distinct senders, the share that succeed and the gas its blocks use. It also names the contracts that receive the most calls, so a spike can be traced to what caused it.

Read transactions next to active addresses and the top contracts: a jump in transactions without new senders usually comes from bots or a single app. Every figure is summed from BNB Chain blocks and transactions, pinned to the day's last block and backed by a receipt.

## Blueprint

### Activity

Daily transactions, active addresses, success rate and gas.

- **Transactions, latest day** (count): Transactions in BNB Chain blocks on the latest complete UTC day, successful and failed.
- **Active addresses, latest day** (count): Distinct senders of successful transactions on the latest complete day.
- **Success rate** (%): Successful transactions as a share of all transactions on the latest complete day.
- **Gas used, latest day** (gas): Total gas used by the blocks of the latest complete day.
- **Transactions and active addresses by day** (count): Daily transactions and distinct senders over the selected period, so growth in users can be told apart from growth in activity per address.
- **Gas used against capacity** (gas): Daily gas used against the gas the day's blocks could hold, which shows how close the chain came to full.

### Contracts

The contracts that receive the most calls, and new deployments.

- **New contracts, latest day** (count): Contracts created on the latest complete day, from create and create2 calls in traces.
- **Top contract's share** (%): The share of the latest day's transactions sent to the single most called contract.
- **New contracts by day** (count): Contracts deployed each day over the selected period, which rises with token launches and factory deployments.
- **Most called contracts**: The contracts that received the most transactions on the latest day, with their label where known, their distinct senders and the change from a week earlier.

Filters: Period (Last 30 days, 90 days or a year).

## How it will be measured

- Transactions are every transaction in BNB Chain blocks within the UTC day, with success and failure taken from each receipt's status.
- Active addresses are distinct senders of successful transactions per day and per 30 days.
- Gas used is the sum of gas_used in the day's block headers, set against the gas limit those blocks offered.
- Top contracts rank the to addresses of the day's transactions by count, with a label where the contract is known.
- New contracts count create and create2 calls in execution traces, and every figure carries a receipt with the block range it covers.

## Data it needs

- `chain_activity_daily` (to build): Transactions, active sending addresses, new addresses, contracts created and gas used on each chain per day, counted from blocks and transactions.
- `address_labels` (to build): Labels for known addresses: exchanges, bridges, protocols, funds, treasuries, sanctioned addresses and known attackers.
- Source: BNB Chain fct_transactions: daily count, receipt status and from_address
- Source: BNB Chain fct_blocks: gas_used and gas_limit per block
- Source: The to_address of each day's transactions, ranked by count
- Source: Execution traces: create and create2 calls, for new contracts

## Questions

### How many transactions does BNB Chain process per day?

The dashboard shows the count for each UTC day from every block, with the success rate beside it. Daily counts can jump during token launches and trading waves, so the top contracts table shows where each day's transactions went.

### Are BSC and BNB Chain the same?

BNB Smart Chain, or BSC, is the EVM chain most people mean by BNB Chain. The BNB Chain name also covers related networks such as opBNB and BNB Greenfield, which this dashboard does not count.

### What counts as an active address?

An address that sent at least one successful transaction in the period. Receiving tokens alone does not count, which keeps airdrop and spam recipients out of the figure.

### Why do transactions rise without more active addresses?

A few addresses can send very many transactions, usually trading bots, market makers or apps that batch work. Comparing transactions, active addresses and the top contracts shows whether growth comes from more users or from more activity per user.

## Glossary

- **Success rate**: The share of a day's transactions whose receipt shows they executed without reverting.
- **Gas used**: The computation a block's transactions consumed, in units of gas, against the block's gas limit.
