> DAO governance tracker for on-chain proposals: live votes, quorum progress, results and execution across governors such as Arbitrum, Uniswap and ENS.

**Question:** Which DAO proposals are live right now, and how are the votes going?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [DAOs and treasuries](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/governance)
- Chains: Multi-chain, Ethereum, Arbitrum, OP Mainnet
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

This tracker lists the on-chain proposals open right now across major DAO governors, and how each vote stands: votes for, against and abstaining, progress toward quorum and when voting ends. Recent proposals show whether they passed, were queued in a timelock and were executed.

It reads the governor contracts themselves: the voting power each voter held at the proposal's snapshot block and the events emitted when a proposal is created, a vote is cast and a proposal is queued or executed. Off-chain signalling votes are not included, because they are not recorded on a chain.

Use it to follow a vote that matters to you, to see which delegates are deciding it or to check that a passed proposal was actually executed. Every count names the governor, the proposal and the blocks it was read at.

## Blueprint

### Live votes

Proposals open for voting now and how each one stands.

- **Proposals open now** (count): On-chain proposals in the active state across covered governors at the latest block.
- **Votes ending in 24 hours** (count): Active proposals whose voting period ends within the next 24 hours.
- **Votes cast, last 24 hours** (count): VoteCast events across covered governors over the last 24 hours.
- **Live proposals below quorum** (count): Active proposals whose votes counted toward quorum are still below the governor's quorum().
- **Live proposals**: Each active proposal: DAO, title, votes for, against and abstaining, quorum progress, largest voters and time left, from governor events.

### Recent outcomes

Proposals closed in the period: results, turnout and execution.

- **Proposals passed** (count): Proposals that succeeded in the selected period across covered governors.
- **Proposals executed** (count): Passed proposals whose execution transaction landed in the selected period.
- **Proposals by DAO** (count): Proposals created in the selected period for each DAO, split by outcome: passed, defeated or canceled.
- **Recent outcomes**: Closed proposals in the selected period with their result, turnout, quorum and the transaction that queued or executed each.

Filters: DAO (Every governor in the registry); Period (Last 7, 30 or 90 days).

## How it will be measured

- Proposals and votes come from governor events: ProposalCreated, VoteCast, ProposalQueued, ProposalExecuted and ProposalCanceled for OpenZeppelin Governor and GovernorBravo contracts, plus the equivalent events of Aave Governance v3.
- Voting power is the weight in each VoteCast event, checked against getPastVotes at the proposal's snapshot block; quorum is the governor's quorum() at that block, or quorumVotes() on GovernorBravo.
- A proposal's state follows the governor's own state(): pending, active, canceled, defeated, succeeded, queued, expired or executed.
- Covered DAOs come from a registry of governor and timelock contracts, each recorded with its chain and source; off-chain votes are outside this tracker.

## Data it needs

- `governance_votes` (to build): Proposals, votes, voting power and turnout in on-chain governors, with off-chain votes recorded with their source.
- `address_labels` (to build): Labels for known addresses: exchanges, bridges, protocols, funds, treasuries, sanctioned addresses and known attackers.
- Source: OpenZeppelin Governor and GovernorBravo events: ProposalCreated, VoteCast, ProposalQueued, ProposalExecuted and ProposalCanceled
- Source: ERC20Votes getPastVotes and getPastTotalSupply at each proposal's snapshot block
- Source: Governor quorum() and state() calls
- Source: Aave Governance v3 proposal events on Ethereum and vote events on its voting chains
- Source: A registry of DAO governor and timelock contracts with their chain and source

## Questions

### What is on-chain governance?

Governance in which proposals and votes are transactions to a governor contract, and a passed proposal executes its own calls, usually through a timelock. The result is enforced by the chain rather than by a team acting on an off-chain vote.

### What is quorum in a DAO vote?

The minimum voting power that must take part, or vote in favor, for a proposal's result to count. Governors define it in their quorum() function, often as a share of token supply at the snapshot block.

### Why are off-chain votes not shown?

Many DAOs hold signalling votes on off-chain platforms, where votes are signed messages rather than transactions. They are not recorded on a chain, so they cannot carry a block receipt here; this tracker covers on-chain votes only.

### What happens after a DAO proposal passes?

In most governors a passed proposal is first queued in a timelock, which delays execution so users can react. Once the delay ends, anyone can execute it. The tracker shows each step with the transaction that made it.

### Who can vote in a DAO?

Holders of the governance token, or the delegates they have chosen. Voting power is fixed at the proposal's snapshot block, so tokens bought after a vote starts carry no weight in it.

## Glossary

- **Governor**: A contract that accepts proposals, counts votes and executes the calls of the proposals that pass.
- **Delegate**: An address that votes with the voting power other holders have assigned to it.
- **Snapshot block**: The block at which voting power is measured for a proposal.
- **Timelock**: A contract that holds a passed proposal for a set delay before it can be executed.
