**Question:** Which DeFi lending markets have the highest utilization and borrow rates right now?

- Kind: Table in Voltfin Strata
- Topic: [DeFi](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/defi)
- Chains: Multi-chain, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, OP Mainnet, Polygon, Avalanche
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

This table lists every covered lending market in one place, one row per market and asset, with the rate a supplier earns, the rate a borrower pays, how much of the market is borrowed and the limits that decide when a position can be liquidated. Aave, Spark, Compound, Morpho and Euler each describe their markets differently; here they share the same columns.

Sort by borrow APY or utilization to find the markets under the most demand, or by loan-to-value to compare how much each market lends against an asset. Every cell is read from the market's contracts at a named block, and the rates are the protocol's own, before incentives.

## Blueprint

One row: One row per lending market and asset on each chain, at the latest read

- **Protocol** (`protocol`): The lending protocol and version, such as Aave v3, Compound v3 or Morpho Blue.
- **Chain** (`chain`): The chain the market runs on.
- **Market** (`market`): The market or pool name; for isolated markets, the loan asset and collateral pairing.
- **Asset** (`asset`): The asset supplied and borrowed in this row, linked to its contract.
- **Supply APY** (`supply_apy`): What suppliers earn, from the protocol's supply rate at the read block, before incentives.
- **Borrow APY** (`borrow_apy`): What variable-rate borrowers pay, from the protocol's borrow rate at the same block.
- **Utilization** (`utilization`): Borrowed over supplied in the market at the same block.
- **Supplied** (`supplied`, USD): Total supplied to the market, valued at the oracle price.
- **Borrowed** (`borrowed`, USD): Total borrowed from the market, valued the same way.
- **Max LTV** (`ltv`): The most that can be borrowed against this asset as collateral; for isolated markets, against the market's collateral.
- **Liquidation threshold** (`liquidation_threshold`): The level at which a position becomes liquidatable; for Morpho Blue, the market's lltv.
- **Receipt** (`receipt`): The block, contracts and calls behind the row.

## How it will be measured

- Aave v3 and SparkLend rows come from getReserveData and getReserveConfigurationData per reserve: rates, supply, borrow, loan-to-value, liquidation threshold and liquidation bonus.
- Compound v3 rows come from each Comet's getUtilization(), getSupplyRate() and getBorrowRate(), with getAssetInfo() for each collateral's factors.
- Morpho Blue rows read market(id) totals, the market's lltv from CreateMarket and the borrow rate from its IRM's borrowRateView; Euler v2 rows read EVault VaultStatus events and each vault's LTV configuration.
- Per-second and per-year rates are converted to APY with the compounding each protocol uses, and sizes are valued with Chainlink latestRoundData at the same block.

## Data it needs

- `lending_markets_daily` (to build): Supply, borrow, utilization and rates per lending market (Aave, Morpho, Spark, Compound, Euler and others) at day end.
- `native_prices_daily` (to build): Reference prices of major assets read from on-chain oracle feeds (Chainlink latestRoundData) at each day's last block, with each round's update time.

- Source: Euler v2 EVault VaultStatus events and LTV configuration

## Questions

### What is utilization in lending?

The share of a market's supplied assets that is currently borrowed. High utilization raises borrow rates under most rate models and leaves less liquidity for suppliers who want to withdraw.

### What is the difference between LTV and liquidation threshold?

Loan-to-value is the most that can be borrowed against collateral when opening or increasing a loan. The liquidation threshold is the higher level at which the position can be liquidated, and the gap between them is the buffer for price moves. Morpho Blue markets use a single limit, the lltv.

### Why do borrow rates differ so much between markets?

Each market has its own supply, demand and rate model. A market near full utilization charges a steep rate to attract supply, while a similar asset elsewhere may be mostly idle. Isolated markets such as Morpho's also price each collateral pairing separately.

### Are these rates fixed?

No. Every rate in the table is variable and changes with each deposit, borrow and repayment. The table shows the rate at its read block, and the lending dashboards show how it moved over time.

### Do the rates include incentives?

No. They are the rates the protocol pays and charges in the market's own asset. Reward programs in other tokens are listed separately where they exist.

## Glossary

- **Loan-to-value (LTV)**: The largest share of a collateral's value that can be borrowed against it in a market.
- **Liquidation threshold**: The debt-to-collateral level at which a position becomes eligible for liquidation.
- **LLTV**: Morpho Blue's liquidation loan-to-value: the single limit, fixed when a market is created, above which a position can be liquidated.
- **Utilization**: Borrowed assets as a share of supplied assets in a market.
