**Question:** How much money flowed into or out of spot Ethereum ETFs today and this week?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Markets and trading](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/trading)
- Chains: Ethereum
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Spot ether ETFs hold ETH for their shareholders and change in size as shares are created and redeemed. The daily net flow, the value of shares created minus shares redeemed, shows whether money is moving into or out of ether through regulated funds, and which issuers it is moving through.

This dashboard records each US spot ether ETF's published holdings, shares outstanding and NAV every day, computes its net flow and converts it to ETH at an on-chain oracle price. Holdings are also shown as a share of ether supply, which is rebuilt from issuance and burn on Ethereum itself.

Some funds now stake part of their ETH. Where a fund reports its staked amount, the dashboard shows it beside the fund's holdings, so flows into staking funds can be told apart from the rest.

## Blueprint

### Latest day

Net flows on the latest reported trading day and this week.

- **Net flow, latest day** (USD): Net creations minus redemptions across all US spot ether ETFs on the latest reported trading day, valued at NAV.
- **Net flow, this week** (USD): Net flows of all funds summed over the current trading week, up to the latest report.
- **ETH held by the funds** (ETH): Ether held by all US spot ether ETFs at the latest as-of date, from their issuers' files.
- **Share of ether supply** (%): ETH held by the funds as a share of ether supply at the matching block.
- **Net flow by fund** (USD): Each fund's net flow on the latest reported day, inflows and outflows, with the funds still pending marked.

### History

Flows, holdings and staking since the funds launched.

- **Net flows since launch** (USD): Net flows of all US spot ether ETFs summed from their first trading day to the latest report.
- **ETH staked by funds** (ETH): ETH that staking funds report as staked at their latest report, summed across those funds.
- **ETH held by fund** (ETH): Ether held by each fund at each as-of date, stacked to the total.
- **Weekly net flows** (USD): Net flows of all funds per trading week, with the running total since launch drawn as a line.
- **Funds compared**: Each fund's latest net flow, its flows over the period, ETH held, staked share and the date of its last file.

Filters: Fund (Every US spot ether ETF, or all together); Period (Last 30 or 90 days, 1 year or since launch).

## How it will be measured

- Each fund's net flow is the change in shares outstanding times NAV per share on the trading day, from the files its issuer publishes after the US close.
- Flows in ETH divide the USD flow by the Chainlink ETH/USD price at the Ethereum block nearest the US market close.
- Share of supply divides the ETH held by the funds by ether supply at the same block, rebuilt from validator issuance minus burned base fees.
- Staked ETH is shown only where a fund's filings or files report it, with the date of the report; a fund that does not report it is shown as not reported, never as zero.

## Data it needs

- `etf_holdings_daily` (to build): Holdings and daily flows of spot crypto ETFs per fund, from issuer-published holdings, matched to custody addresses where they are disclosed.
- `native_prices_daily` (to build): Reference prices of major assets read from on-chain oracle feeds (Chainlink latestRoundData) at each day's last block, with each round's update time.
- `eth_supply_daily` (to build): Daily ETH issued to validators, ETH burned through the EIP-1559 base fee, and the resulting net change in ETH supply.
- Source: Issuer-published daily ETH holdings and shares outstanding per fund (off-chain)
- Source: Daily net creations and redemptions per fund in USD, from issuer files (off-chain)
- Source: Chainlink ETH/USD latestRoundData() at the block nearest the US market close, to express flows in ETH
- Source: ETH total supply from the burn-and-issuance model, for holdings as a share of supply
- Source: Staked share of holdings from fund filings and files, where reported (off-chain)

## Questions

### What are Ethereum ETF flows?

Flows are the net value of shares created or redeemed in a spot ether ETF on a trading day. An inflow means the fund grew and took in more ETH; an outflow means shares were redeemed and the fund released ETH or cash.

### Which Ethereum ETFs stake their ETH?

Staking depends on each fund's filings and its custodian. Funds that stake report the share of their ETH that is staked; the dashboard shows that figure where it is published and labels every other fund as non-staking or not reported.

### When are ether ETF flows reported?

Issuers publish holdings and shares outstanding after the US trading day closes, usually by the next morning. A day's total is complete only once every fund has published, and late funds are shown as pending.

### How much of the ether supply do ETFs hold?

The dashboard divides the ETH held by all US spot ether ETFs by total ether supply at the same block. Supply is rebuilt from issuance to validators minus base fees burned, so the denominator can be checked on-chain.

### Where does the ETH for a creation come from?

A creation is settled through authorized participants, who may buy ETH on exchanges, over the counter or from their own inventory. The flow measures the change in the fund's size, not the venue the coins came from.

## Glossary

- **Net flow**: The value of shares created minus shares redeemed in a fund on one trading day, at that day's NAV.
- **Staked ETH**: Ether deposited with validators that secure Ethereum and earn rewards; a staking fund reports how much of its ETH is staked.
- **Shares outstanding**: The number of a fund's shares held by investors; it rises with creations and falls with redemptions.
