**Question:** Which addresses hold the largest open positions on Hyperliquid right now, and at what prices would they be liquidated?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Wallets and whales](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/wallets)
- Chains: Hyperliquid
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Every position on Hyperliquid's perpetual exchange is held in the chain's own state, so the largest traders' positions are public. This dashboard reads that state for the biggest accounts and lists their open positions: market, side, size, entry price, leverage, liquidation price and unrealized profit or loss, at the time of each snapshot.

Large positions matter beyond their owners. A cluster of liquidation prices near the current price can add forced selling or buying if the market reaches it, and a large account flipping from long to short is visible as it happens. The liquidation page groups the largest accounts' liquidation prices by their distance from the mark price.

Read the long and short totals first, then the position table; the market filter narrows every tile to one perpetual. An address is a wallet, not a person: one trader can use many addresses, and a vault pools many depositors' funds.

## Blueprint

### Positions

The largest open positions and the balance of longs and shorts.

- **Long notional, largest accounts** (USD): The combined notional of long positions held by the largest accounts at the latest snapshot.
- **Short notional, largest accounts** (USD): The combined notional of their short positions at the same snapshot.
- **Long share** (%): Long notional as a share of the largest accounts' total notional at the latest snapshot.
- **Largest open position** (USD): The notional of the single largest open position, named with its market, side and address.
- **Largest open positions**: Each position's address, market, side, size, notional, entry price, mark price, liquidation price, leverage and unrealized profit, sorted by notional.
- **Long and short by market** (USD): Long and short notional of the largest accounts in each market at the latest snapshot.

### Liquidations and fills

Where the largest positions would be liquidated and what large accounts traded.

- **Notional near liquidation** (USD): Notional of the largest accounts' positions whose liquidation price sits within a stated distance of the mark price.
- **Unrealized profit, largest accounts** (USD): The combined unrealized profit or loss of the largest accounts' open positions at the latest snapshot.
- **Liquidation prices by distance** (USD): Notional of the largest accounts' positions grouped by how far each liquidation price sits from the mark, for the selected market.
- **Recent large fills**: The latest large fills by the largest accounts: time, market, side, size, price and whether each opened, closed or was liquidated.

Filters: Market (Every Hyperliquid perpetual); Side (Long, short or both).

## How it will be measured

- Candidate accounts are found from the chain's own fills; at every snapshot each account's clearinghouse state is read: positions, entry price, leverage, margin, liquidation price and unrealized profit.
- Notional size is position size times the mark price at the snapshot; the long and short totals add up the notional of the largest accounts' positions on each side.
- Liquidation prices are those the chain reports for each position; in cross margin they depend on the whole account, so they move when any of its positions moves.
- Large fills come from the chain's fill records with their open, close and liquidation flags, attributed to the accounts that made them.
- Each snapshot records its time and the chain state it was read from; account labels appear only where a public source supports them.

## Data it needs

- `perps_markets_daily` (to build): Volume, open interest, funding rates and fees per market on on-chain perpetual exchanges, per day.
- `liquidations` (to build): Every liquidation on major lending markets and perp venues: collateral seized, debt repaid, liquidator, and the price at the time.
- `address_labels` (to build): Labels for known addresses: exchanges, bridges, protocols, funds, treasuries, sanctioned addresses and known attackers.
- Source: Clearinghouse state per account at each snapshot: positions, entry price, leverage, margin used, liquidation price and unrealized profit
- Source: Fills per account with their open, close and liquidation flags, from the chain's fill records
- Source: Mark and oracle prices per perpetual at each snapshot
- Source: Account value history of the largest accounts

## Questions

### How can I see Hyperliquid whale positions?

Positions on Hyperliquid are part of public chain state, read per address. This dashboard finds the largest accounts from the chain's fills and lists each one's open positions with size, leverage, entry and liquidation price at the latest snapshot.

### What is a liquidation price on Hyperliquid?

The mark price at which an account's equity would fall below the margin it must maintain, at which point the exchange's liquidation process closes the position. For cross-margin accounts it depends on every position in the account.

### Is this the same as the Hyperliquid leaderboard?

No. A leaderboard ranks accounts by profit or volume over a period. This tracker ranks open positions by size at a point in time and shows their risk, such as how far each one is from liquidation.

### Do whale positions predict where the price goes?

No. Large positions can be hedges, parts of wider strategies or simply wrong; positions held elsewhere are not visible here. The dashboard shows what is held, not what will happen.

### What is HLP?

HLP is Hyperliquid's community vault, which provides liquidity on the exchange and can take over positions during liquidations. Vaults pool many depositors' funds, so their positions are not one trader's view.

## Glossary

- **Notional**: The full market value of a position: its size times the current mark price, not the margin posted for it.
- **Mark price**: The reference price Hyperliquid uses for margin and liquidations, built from oracle and order book prices rather than the last trade alone.
- **Cross margin**: A margin mode in which all of an account's positions share its collateral, so one position's loss can bring the others closer to liquidation.
