**Question:** How much SOL does Marinade stake, and which validators win its stake auction?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Staking and restaking](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/staking)
- Chains: Solana
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Marinade stakes SOL in two ways: liquid staking, which issues mSOL, and Marinade Native, which leaves stake accounts under their owners' control and issues no token. This dashboard reads Marinade's programs each epoch to show the SOL in both, mSOL's price and yield, how holders unstake and which validators hold Marinade's stake.

Those validators are chosen by auction. In the Stake Auction Marketplace, validators bid for Marinade's stake by offering extra yield to stakers and back their bids with SOL posted in bonds; Marinade delegates to the winning bids within caps per validator. The same bonds pay stakers under Protected Staking Rewards when a validator underperforms. The auction page shows what each validator won, what it paid and every settlement from a bond.

Use it to see where mSOL's yield comes from, how concentrated Marinade's stake is and how unstaking splits between delayed tickets and the instant pool. Every figure names its epoch and the program accounts behind it.

## Blueprint

### mSOL and Native

SOL staked through Marinade, mSOL's price and yield and how holders unstake.

- **mSOL supply** (mSOL): mSOL minted by Marinade's liquid staking program at the latest epoch.
- **SOL per mSOL** (SOL): The mSOL price from the program state: staked and reserve SOL divided by mSOL supply after the epoch's update.
- **SOL in Marinade Native** (SOL): SOL in stake accounts managed by Marinade Native, which stay under their owners' authority and issue no token.
- **Validators with Marinade stake** (count): Validators holding stake from Marinade's liquid or native staking at the latest epoch.
- **mSOL yield by epoch** (%): mSOL's annualized yield per epoch from the change in its price, with the part paid by auction bids shown apart.
- **Unstaking by route** (mSOL): mSOL unstaked each epoch through delayed unstake tickets and through the liquidity pool, which pays at once for a fee.

### Stake auction

Bids paid, bonds posted, stake won by validator and every bond settlement.

- **Bids paid last epoch** (SOL): SOL charged from validator bonds for auction bids in the last epoch, which goes to Marinade's stakers.
- **SOL in validator bonds** (SOL): SOL posted in validator bond accounts that back bids and Protected Staking Rewards, at the latest epoch.
- **Stake won by validator** (SOL): Stake the auction allocated to each validator at the latest epoch, largest first, with its effective bid and bond.
- **Bond settlements**: Each Protected Staking Rewards settlement paid from a bond, with its epoch, validator, reason and amount.

Filters: Period (Last 10, 30 or 90 epochs).

## How it will be measured

- mSOL supply and price come from Marinade's program state at each epoch boundary; the price is the program's own ratio of staked and reserve SOL to mSOL supply.
- Native stake is the sum of stake accounts delegated under Marinade Native's stake authority at the same epoch.
- Auction results, bids charged and settlements come from the validator bonds program's accounts and settlement transactions.
- Delayed unstake tickets and liquid unstakes are read from the program's order unstake, claim and liquid unstake instructions.

## Data it needs

- `staking_networks_daily` (to build): Staked supply, staking ratio, validators and nominal rewards per proof-of-stake network per day.
- `protocol_revenue_daily` (to build): Fees users paid to each protocol and the part kept by the protocol or its token holders, per protocol and day, including buybacks.
- `defi_tvl_daily` (to build): Assets deposited in DeFi protocols per protocol, chain and asset at day end, valued with oracle prices, never double counting receipt tokens.
- Source: Marinade liquid staking program state: mSOL supply, staked and reserve SOL and the mSOL price at each epoch boundary
- Source: Stake accounts under Marinade Native's stake authority
- Source: Validator bonds program: bond balances, bids charged per epoch and Protected Staking Rewards settlements
- Source: Order unstake, claim and liquid unstake instructions with the liquidity pool's balances

## Questions

### What is mSOL?

mSOL is Marinade's liquid staking token on Solana. SOL deposited into Marinade is spread across many validators, and mSOL's price in SOL rises each epoch as that stake earns rewards and the bids validators pay.

### What is Marinade's Stake Auction Marketplace?

The way Marinade decides where its stake goes. Validators bid for stake by offering stakers extra yield, backed by SOL they post in a bond, and Marinade delegates to the winning bids, with caps on how much any one validator can hold.

### What are Protected Staking Rewards?

A guarantee backed by validator bonds: if a validator that holds Marinade's stake stops earning rewards or raises its commission, SOL is paid from its bond to the stakers affected. The auction page lists each such settlement.

### How long does it take to unstake mSOL?

Delayed unstaking creates a ticket that can be claimed once the stake behind it has deactivated at the end of the epoch, usually within a few days. Liquid unstaking swaps mSOL for SOL at once through Marinade's liquidity pool, for a fee that depends on how much SOL the pool holds.

### What is Marinade Native?

A way to stake with Marinade without a token: SOL stays in stake accounts under the owner's authority, while Marinade chooses and changes the validators. It suits holders who want managed delegation and no liquid token.

## Glossary

- **Stake auction**: Marinade's market where validators bid yield for stakers to win delegated stake, settled every epoch.
- **Validator bond**: SOL a validator posts with Marinade that pays its auction bids and any Protected Staking Rewards settlements.
- **Delayed unstake ticket**: A claim Marinade issues when mSOL is unstaked the slow way; it is redeemed for SOL after the stake behind it deactivates.
- **Liquidity pool**: Marinade's pool of SOL and mSOL that pays SOL for mSOL at once, for a fee that rises as the pool's SOL runs low.
