# Memecoin Survival Rate: How Many Launches Last

> Memecoin survival rate each month: the share of launchpad tokens that graduate, keep liquidity and still trade after 7 and 30 days, by launchpad and chain.

**Question:** What share of memecoins launched last month graduated and were still trading 30 days later?

- Kind: Report in Voltfin Folio
- Topic: [Memecoins and launches](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/memecoins)
- Chains: Multi-chain, Solana, BNB Chain, Base
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Many memecoins stop trading soon after they launch. This report measures how many last: of the tokens launched in a month on the covered launchpads, how many graduated from their bonding curve, how many still had liquidity 30 days later and how many were still traded by someone other than their creator.

Each edition covers the tokens launched in one calendar month, measured once the youngest of them is 30 days old, and breaks the results down by launchpad and chain, from pump.fun and bonk.fun on Solana to four.meme on BNB Chain and Zora and Clanker on Base. The definitions stay fixed between editions, so the months can be compared.

## Blueprint

### How many launches lasted

The month's cohort in a few lines: how many tokens launched, graduated and still traded at day 7 and day 30, against earlier months.

Cites: Tokens launched in the cohort; Graduation rate; Share still trading at day 7; Share still trading at day 30.

### By launchpad

Graduation and survival rates for each covered launchpad, each with the size of its cohort.

Cites: Launches per launchpad; Graduation rate per launchpad; Day 30 survival per launchpad.

### Liquidity and holders at day 30

How many survivors kept a funded pool, how much liquidity they held and how many holders they had.

Cites: Tokens with liquidity at day 30; Median liquidity at day 30; Median holders at day 30.

### How fast tokens stop trading

The share of the cohort still trading on each day from launch to day 30, drawn as a survival curve per launchpad.

Cites: Share trading on each day after launch.

### Solana, BNB Chain and Base compared

The same rates by chain, on the same definitions, so launch economies on different chains can be compared.

Cites: Day 30 survival by chain; Graduation rate by chain.

### Definitions and how to check them

What counts as graduated, trading and liquid, the thresholds used and the receipts behind each rate.

## How it will be measured

- The cohort is every token created by a covered launchpad in the calendar month, from its creation events; tokens that start straight in a DEX pool, as on Zora and Clanker, have no graduation step.
- A token graduated when its bonding curve completed and its liquidity moved to a DEX pool, from the launchpad's completion or migration event.
- A token is still trading on day 7 or day 30 when at least one swap on that day comes from an address other than its creator and the launchpad.
- It kept liquidity when its pools still held at least a published minimum value at day 30, read from getReserves or from slot0 and liquidity at that day's last block.
- Holder counts come from Transfer logs or SPL token accounts at day 30, and each rate names its cohort size and the blocks it was read at.

## Data it needs

- `token_launches_daily` (to build): New tokens deployed per chain and launchpad per day, how many reached a DEX pool, and how many were abandoned.
- `dex_swaps_daily` (to build): Swap counts and volume per DEX, pool and chain per day, decoded from Swap events, valued with stablecoin legs and oracle prices.
- `dex_liquidity_daily` (to build): Liquidity held by each DEX pool at day end, in tokens and valued in USD, with fee tier and pool age.
- `token_holders_snapshot` (to build): Holder counts, top holders and concentration shares of registry tokens at a pinned block, with contract and exchange labels.
- `native_prices_daily` (to build): Reference prices of major assets read from on-chain oracle feeds (Chainlink latestRoundData) at each day's last block, with each round's update time.
- Source: Launchpad create and graduation events: pump.fun and bonk.fun on Solana, four.meme on BNB Chain, Zora and Clanker on Base
- Source: DEX Swap events per token on day 7 and day 30 after launch
- Source: Pool reserves (getReserves), or slot0 and liquidity, at day 30
- Source: Holder counts from Transfer logs and SPL token accounts at day 30

## Questions

### How many memecoins fail?

Most bonding-curve tokens never graduate, and many of those that do stop trading within weeks. This report measures the rates for each month's cohort, so the answer comes with its definitions, its cohort size and its dates.

### What does the graduation rate measure?

The share of tokens launched on a bonding curve that filled it and moved to a DEX pool. It measures early demand only: a graduated token can still lose its buyers soon after, which is why the report adds day 7 and day 30 measures.

### What counts as a dead memecoin here?

A token with no swap on day 30 from anyone other than its creator and the launchpad, or whose pools fell below the published minimum liquidity. The report shows both conditions separately, since a token can keep a pool but have no traders.

### Why wait 30 days to publish?

Every token in a monthly cohort needs a full 30 days before its day 30 state exists. Each edition is therefore published after the youngest token in the cohort turns 30 days old, and covers a month that ended earlier.

### Which launchpads are covered?

On Solana, pump.fun and bonk.fun; on BNB Chain, four.meme; on Base, Zora and Clanker. Each is read from its own creation and graduation events. Others are added once their contracts are verified, and each edition lists the launchpads it includes.

## Glossary

- **Cohort**: All tokens launched in the same calendar month, followed together from launch to day 30.
- **Survival rate**: The share of a cohort still traded by someone other than its creator on a given day after launch.
- **Graduation rate**: The share of bonding-curve tokens whose curve filled and whose liquidity moved to a DEX pool.
