# OP Stack Chains: The Superchain List Compared

> A sortable list of OP Stack chains: Superchain membership, proof system, data availability, gas token, revenue share and daily activity, read from each chain.

**Question:** Which chains run on the OP Stack, which belong to the Superchain and how do they compare?

- Kind: Table in Voltfin Strata
- Topic: [Layer 2s](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/layer-2)
- Chains: Multi-chain, Ethereum, OP Mainnet, Base, Unichain, Ink, World Chain, Celo, Mantle, Blast
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

The OP Stack is the open-source rollup framework behind OP Mainnet and many other chains. Some of them join the Superchain: they share upgrades and security council oversight, follow a standard configuration and pay part of their revenue to the Optimism Collective. Others run the stack, or a fork of it, on their own terms.

This table lists each OP Stack chain once and says which group it is in, with the facts that change what its numbers mean: its proof system, where it publishes data, its gas token, its block time and whether it pays the Superchain revenue share. Activity columns show transactions, active addresses and fees on the same definitions for every chain.

Membership changes over time. Chains join, and in 2026 Base announced a move to its own Base-operated stack while staying compatible with the OP Stack specification. Each row records its status with the date and the source behind it.

## Blueprint

One row: One row per OP Stack chain, on the latest complete day

- **Chain** (`chain`): The chain's name, linked to its registry entry or its own documentation.
- **Chain ID** (`chain_id`): The EVM chain ID the chain uses for transactions.
- **Superchain status** (`superchain_status`): Member, running the OP Stack outside the Superchain or a fork, with the date of the latest change.
- **Proof system** (`proof_system`): Permissionless fault proofs, permissioned proofs or validity proofs, read from the chain's contracts on Ethereum.
- **Data availability** (`data_availability`): Where the chain posts its transaction data: Ethereum blobs, calldata or an alternative data layer.
- **Gas token** (`gas_token`): The token the chain charges gas in: ETH or its own token.
- **Block time** (`block_time`, seconds): The chain's target block time, from its configuration.
- **Revenue share, 90 days** (`revenue_share_90d`, ETH): Payments to the Optimism Collective over the last 90 days, from the transactions that made them.
- **Transactions per day** (`transactions_per_day`): Average daily transactions over the last 30 days, leaving out the L1 attributes deposit.
- **Active addresses** (`active_addresses`): Average daily addresses that sent a transaction over the last 30 days.
- **Fees, 30 days** (`fees_30d`, ETH): Fees users paid over the last 30 days, in ETH or converted from the chain's gas token.
- **Receipt** (`receipt`): The blocks and reads behind the row.

## How it will be measured

- The chain list starts from the Superchain Registry, the public registry of OP Stack chains and their configurations, plus OP Stack chains outside it, each recorded with its source.
- Configuration is read from each chain's contracts on Ethereum: the SystemConfig for gas parameters and batcher, the respected dispute game type for the proof system and, for data availability, where its batches are posted.
- Revenue share is read as transactions: payments from each chain to the Optimism Collective's revenue addresses, with the period each one covers.
- Activity is counted per UTC day from each chain's blocks on the definitions used across this site, leaving out the L1 attributes deposit that opens each block.
- Every row names the Ethereum and layer 2 blocks it was read at.

## Data it needs

- `l2_activity_daily` (to build): Per layer 2 per day: transactions, active addresses, fees users paid on the L2, and what the L2 paid Ethereum to settle and post data.
- `chain_activity_daily` (to build): Transactions, active sending addresses, new addresses, contracts created and gas used on each chain per day, counted from blocks and transactions.
- `protocol_revenue_daily` (to build): Fees users paid to each protocol and the part kept by the protocol or its token holders, per protocol and day, including buybacks.
- Source: The Superchain Registry's chain list and configurations, at a pinned commit
- Source: SystemConfig, OptimismPortal and DisputeGameFactory contracts of each chain on Ethereum
- Source: Where each chain's batcher posts: Ethereum blobs, calldata or an alternative data layer
- Source: Revenue share payments from each chain to the Optimism Collective's revenue addresses
- Source: Each chain's blocks and receipts for transactions, active addresses and fees

## Questions

### What is the Superchain?

A group of OP Stack chains that agree to share upgrades, follow a standard configuration and accept oversight from the Optimism Collective's security council, in return for shared technology and interoperability. Members pay part of their sequencer revenue to the Collective.

### Is every OP Stack chain in the Superchain?

No. The OP Stack is open source, so anyone can run it or fork it without joining. The table labels each chain as a member, as running the stack outside the Superchain or as a fork with its own changes.

### Is Base still in the Superchain?

Base was the largest OP Stack chain and paid into the Superchain revenue share. In February 2026 it announced a move to its own Base-operated stack, compatible with the OP Stack specification, and Optimism said the earlier revenue share would not continue. The table shows Base's status with that date.

### What does a Superchain member pay the Optimism Collective?

The greater of a small cut of its gross fees and a larger cut of its net on-chain profit, after what it pays Ethereum. The table shows each chain's payments, read from the transactions that made them.

### Do all OP Stack chains use the same proof system?

No. Many use the OP Stack's permissionless fault proofs, some still run permissioned proofs and some have switched to zero-knowledge validity proofs, for example through OP Succinct. The table reads each chain's proof system from its contracts.

## Glossary

- **OP Stack**: The open-source software for building rollups that OP Mainnet runs, maintained under the Optimism Collective.
- **Superchain Registry**: The public registry of OP Stack chains, their contract addresses and their configurations.
- **Standard configuration**: The contract versions and parameters a Superchain chain must run to be listed as standard.
