**Question:** How much stablecoin payment volume moves on Polygon PoS?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Payments](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/payments)
- Chains: Polygon
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Polygon PoS has positioned itself as a chain for payments, and stablecoins are what those payments move in. This dashboard measures that activity each day, from the volume of USDC and USDT moved and the number of transfers and senders to the share that moved in payment-sized amounts rather than as trading or treasury flows.

Not every transfer is a payment. Swaps, bridge moves and exchanges shuffling funds between their own wallets all emit the same Transfer event, so the dashboard labels those legs and sets them apart, then groups what is left by transfer size.

Native USDC, the older bridged USDC.e and USDT are kept apart, because they are different contracts with different backing. Each figure names the blocks and the transfers it was counted from.

## Blueprint

### Volume

Daily stablecoin transfers, volume and senders on Polygon PoS.

- **Transfer volume, latest day** (USD): Stablecoin value transferred on Polygon PoS on the latest complete day, every leg included.
- **Payment-like volume, latest day** (USD): The same day's volume after setting apart DEX, bridge and exchange-internal legs.
- **Transfers, latest day** (count): Stablecoin Transfer events on Polygon PoS on the latest complete day.
- **Senders, latest day** (count): Distinct addresses that sent USDC, USDC.e or USDT on the latest complete day.
- **Volume by token by day** (USD): Daily transfer volume of native USDC, USDC.e and USDT, with payment-like volume drawn as a line over the bars.

### Payment sizes

Payment-like transfers by size band and token.

- **Payment-like share of transfers** (%): Payment-like transfers as a share of every stablecoin transfer over the selected period.
- **Median payment size** (USD): The median value of payment-like transfers over the selected period.
- **Payments by size band**: Payment-like transfers over the selected period, split into the fixed USD size bands.
- **Size bands by day** (count): Daily payment-like transfer counts in each size band, so a shift between retail and business sizes shows over time.

Filters: Stablecoin (USDC, USDC.e, USDT or all three); Period (Last 30 days, quarter or year).

## How it will be measured

- Transfers are ERC-20 Transfer logs of native USDC, bridged USDC.e and USDT on Polygon PoS, summed per UTC day into counts, volume and distinct senders.
- Legs that touch labelled DEX pools, routers, bridges or an exchange's own wallets are set apart as trading or internal moves; the rest count as payment-like.
- Payment-like transfers are grouped into fixed USD size bands, from small retail amounts to large treasury moves, the same bands used on every chain.
- Supply is totalSupply() of each token at the day's last block, kept per contract, so native and bridged versions are never added together.

## Data it needs

- `stablecoin_flows_daily` (to build): Stablecoin mints, burns, transfer volume and active addresses per stablecoin and chain per day.
- `stablecoin_supply_daily` (published): Native supply of each USD and EUR stablecoin on each covered chain at the chain's last block of each day, from totalSupply() reads, with bridged copies kept apart.
- `payments_volume_daily` (to build): Stablecoin payment flows that look like payments rather than trading: merchant and payroll transfers, card settlements and remittance corridors, per chain and day.
- `address_labels` (to build): Labels for known addresses: exchanges, bridges, protocols, funds, treasuries, sanctioned addresses and known attackers.

- Source: Daily transfer count, volume and distinct senders per token

- Source: totalSupply() of each token at each day's last block

## Questions

### Which stablecoins are on Polygon PoS?

The main ones are native USDC issued by Circle, the older bridged USDC.e and USDT, which became USDT0 at its original contract address. The dashboard tracks each contract separately.

### How do you tell a payment from a trade?

By what is on the other side. Address labels set apart transfers to and from DEX pools, routers and bridges, as well as moves between an exchange's own wallets. What remains is counted as payment-like, and its size bands separate retail amounts from business ones.

### Why is raw transfer volume not used?

Raw volume counts every movement, including bots and contracts passing the same funds back and forth many times a day. Setting apart trading and internal legs gives a figure closer to money that actually changed hands.

### What is the difference between USDC and USDC.e on Polygon?

USDC is issued directly on Polygon PoS by Circle. USDC.e is a bridged copy of Ethereum USDC, created by the bridge before native issuance began. They are separate tokens, and the dashboard keeps them apart.

## Glossary

- **Payment-like transfer**: A stablecoin transfer that touches no DEX, bridge or exchange-owned wallet, as identified by address labels.
- **USDC.e**: A bridged copy of Ethereum USDC on another chain, separate from natively issued USDC.
- **Size band**: A fixed range of transfer values in USD, used to group transfers by size the same way on every chain.
