**Question:** How much do Solana users pay each day in base fees, priority fees and Jito tips, and where does it go?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Solana](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/solana)
- Chains: Solana
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Real economic value, or REV, is what Solana users pay to get their transactions included: the base fee every signature pays, the priority fee bid per compute unit and the tips paid to Jito's tip accounts for bundles. This dashboard measures all three from every slot, so the total is counted from the chain rather than estimated.

It also follows where that money goes. Half of each base fee is burned and the rest goes to the slot's leader; priority fees go to the leader in full; Jito tips are distributed by Jito's programs to validators, who pass part of them to their stakers. Use it to track demand for Solana block space, validator income and how much of the fee market runs through tips.

Vote transactions, which validators send and pay for to take part in consensus, are counted apart and left out of REV, so the figure reflects what users spend rather than the cost of running the network.

## Blueprint

### REV

What users paid, by fee type.

- **REV, latest day** (SOL): Base fees, priority fees and Jito tips paid in the latest complete UTC day, vote transactions excluded.
- **Priority fees, latest day** (SOL): The fees above the base fee paid by non-vote transactions in the latest complete day.
- **Jito tips, latest day** (SOL): SOL sent to Jito's tip accounts in the latest complete day.
- **Tips' share of REV** (%): Jito tips as a share of REV in the latest complete day.
- **REV by day and type** (SOL): Daily base fees, priority fees and Jito tips over the period, stacked to show the total and its parts.

### Where it goes

What was burned, kept by leaders and passed to stakers.

- **Burned, period** (SOL): The half of base fees destroyed in the selected period.
- **Tips passed to stakers** (%): The share of Jito tips claimed by stake accounts rather than kept as validator commission or protocol fee, in the period.
- **Burned, kept and passed on** (SOL): Each day's REV split into the burned part, the part leaders kept and the part passed to stakers.
- **Validators by fees and tips**: Each validator with the fees and tips of the blocks it produced in the period, its commission on tips and the share it passed to stakers.

Filters: Period (Last 7, 30 or 90 days, or the last year); Unit (SOL or USD).

## How it will be measured

- Base fees are read per transaction as the fixed fee per signature times its signature count; the priority fee is the transaction's total fee minus that base fee.
- Jito tips are SOL transfers into Jito's tip accounts in each slot, read from the transactions that pay them, whether or not they arrived in a bundle.
- The burn is half of base fees; the leader's share follows the fee rules in force at each slot, and stakers' share of tips is read from the tip distribution claims.
- Vote transactions are excluded from REV and shown apart. USD values use an on-chain SOL/USD oracle price at each day's last block.

## Data it needs

- `chain_fees_daily` (to build): Fees paid per chain per day in the native token: base fee and priority fee percentiles, total fees, and the share burned where the chain burns fees.
- `protocol_revenue_daily` (to build): Fees users paid to each protocol and the part kept by the protocol or its token holders, per protocol and day, including buybacks.
- `staking_networks_daily` (to build): Staked supply, staking ratio, validators and nominal rewards per proof-of-stake network per day.
- `native_prices_daily` (to build): Reference prices of major assets read from on-chain oracle feeds (Chainlink latestRoundData) at each day's last block, with each round's update time.
- Source: Transaction metadata in every Solana block: fee, signature count and compute units consumed
- Source: SOL transfers to Jito's tip accounts in each slot
- Source: Jito tip distribution and claim records, for the validator and staker split
- Source: Vote program transactions, counted apart
- Source: SOL/USD oracle price at each day's last block for USD values

## Questions

### What is Solana REV?

Real economic value is the total users pay to land transactions on Solana: base fees, priority fees and tips paid to Jito for bundles. It leaves out vote transactions and new issuance, so it reflects what users spend rather than what validators earn from inflation.

### How much of Solana's fees is burned?

Half of every base fee is burned. Priority fees are no longer burned: since early 2025 the leader that includes a transaction keeps its whole priority fee. Jito tips are not burned either. The dashboard shows the burned amount each day beside the total.

### How are Jito tips counted in REV?

As the SOL paid into Jito's tip accounts in each slot, whether the tip came with a bundle or a single transaction. Tips are counted when they are paid, not when validators and stakers claim them later, so a day's REV matches that day's blocks.

### Why are tips such a large part of REV?

Tips buy ordering and inclusion for trades where timing decides the profit, such as arbitrage, liquidations and early memecoin buys. When trading heats up, competition for the front of a block grows and tips rise faster than ordinary fees. Tips' share of REV is one of the dashboard's main series.

### Is REV the same as validator revenue?

Not exactly. Validators also earn inflation rewards, which users do not pay, and the burned half of base fees reaches no one. Validators share inflation and tips with their stakers according to their commissions, so both a staker's yield and a validator's income differ from REV.

## Glossary

- **Priority fee**: An optional Solana fee set as a price per compute unit and paid to the slot leader, which helps a transaction land sooner when blocks are busy.
- **Bundle**: A group of transactions that must execute together and in order, sent through Jito with a tip for the validator.
- **Leader**: The validator scheduled to produce blocks for a run of slots; it collects the fees and tips of the blocks it produces.
