# USDT on Tron: Supply and Daily Transfers

> USDT on Tron read from the TRC-20 contract: circulating supply, Tether issuance and redemptions, daily transfers, volume and the accounts sending USDT.

**Question:** How much USDT is on Tron, and how much moves each day?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Stablecoins](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/stablecoins)
- Chains: Tron
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Tron carries a large share of everyday USDT movement, from exchange deposits and withdrawals to payments and remittances. This dashboard reads the USDT TRC-20 contract directly: how many tokens exist on Tron, how many sit unissued in Tether's treasury and how many are transferred each day, by how many accounts and in what sizes.

Supply and transfers answer different questions. Supply shows how much USDT holders keep on Tron; transfer counts and volume show how much the chain is used to move it. Large volume can come from a few exchange wallets, so the size bands and sender counts show how broad the activity is.

Use the supply page to follow issuance and redemptions on Tron and the transfers page to see how activity changes through the week. Every figure opens a receipt with the Tron block and the contract read behind it.

## Blueprint

### Supply

How much USDT exists on Tron, how much is held unissued and how it was issued.

- **Circulating USDT on Tron** (USDT): TRC-20 total supply minus the Tether treasury balance on Tron, at the last block of the latest complete day.
- **Held unissued in the treasury** (USDT): USDT that Tether has minted on Tron but still holds in its treasury address, read with balanceOf at the same block.
- **USDT supply on Tron** (USDT): Daily circulating supply and treasury balance over the selected period, stacked so the total equals the contract's supply.
- **Issued and redeemed by day** (USDT): USDT issued to and redeemed from the treasury each day, from Issue and Redeem events, with each event's transaction in the receipt.

### Transfers

How much USDT moves on Tron each day, by how many accounts and in what sizes.

- **Transfers, latest day** (count): Transfer events of the USDT TRC-20 contract on the latest complete UTC day.
- **Transfer volume, latest day** (USDT): The total value of those transfers, before any adjustment for exchange or internal movements.
- **Sending accounts, latest day** (count): Distinct addresses that sent USDT on Tron that day.
- **Median transfer size** (USDT): The median value of a USDT transfer on Tron that day, which a few very large transfers move far less than the average.
- **Daily transfers and volume**: Transfer count and transfer volume per day over the selected period, on two axes.
- **Transfers by size band** (count): Daily transfers in small, medium and large size bands, with each band's edges stated on the chart.

Filters: Period (Last 30 days, 90 days or one year).

## How it will be measured

- Supply is the TRC-20 contract's totalSupply() at the last block of each UTC day, scaled by its decimals; circulating supply subtracts the balance of Tether's treasury address on Tron.
- Issuance and redemptions come from the contract's Issue and Redeem events, each listed with its transaction.
- Transfers are the contract's Transfer events per UTC day: their count, total value and distinct sending and receiving addresses.
- Transfers are grouped into size bands whose edges are stated on the chart, so a day of a few very large exchange transfers reads differently from a day of many small payments.
- Each figure is pinned to a Tron block, with the block number and hash and the read that produced it.

## Data it needs

- `stablecoin_supply_daily` (published): Native supply of each USD and EUR stablecoin on each covered chain at the chain's last block of each day, from totalSupply() reads, with bridged copies kept apart.
- `stablecoin_flows_daily` (to build): Stablecoin mints, burns, transfer volume and active addresses per stablecoin and chain per day.
- `token_transfers_daily` (to build): ERC-20 and native transfer counts, volume and unique senders and receivers per token per chain per day.
- `address_labels` (to build): Labels for known addresses: exchanges, bridges, protocols, funds, treasuries, sanctioned addresses and known attackers.
- Source: totalSupply() of the USDT TRC-20 contract TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t at the last block of each UTC day
- Source: balanceOf() of Tether's Tron treasury address at the same block
- Source: Issue and Redeem events of the same contract
- Source: Transfer events of the same contract: count, value and distinct senders and receivers per day

## Questions

### How much USDT is on Tron?

The supply figure at the top of the dashboard is the TRC-20 contract's circulating supply on the latest complete day, with the part still held in Tether's treasury shown apart. Both are read from the contract, and the receipt names the Tron block they were read at.

### What is USDT TRC-20?

It is Tether's USDT issued as a token on Tron under the TRC-20 standard, Tron's equivalent of ERC-20. It is the same dollar coin as USDT on Ethereum, issued and redeemed by Tether, but it lives on a different chain with its own contract and fees.

### Why do so many USDT transfers happen on Tron?

Tron has fast blocks and low fees for accounts that hold staked or rented energy, and many exchanges and payment services support TRC-20 USDT. That made it a common rail for moving dollars between exchanges and for payments.

### Is USDT on Tron the same as USDT on Ethereum?

Each is redeemable with Tether for dollars, but they are separate tokens on separate chains, each with its own contract and supply. Moving from one to the other goes through an exchange, a bridge or Tether itself.

### Does transfer volume on Tron mean payments?

Not necessarily. Much of the volume is exchanges moving funds between their own wallets and customers moving funds between exchanges. The size bands and sender counts help separate a few large movements from many small ones; the payments apps classify transfers further.

## Glossary

- **TRC-20**: Tron's token standard, modelled on ERC-20, which defines how a token reports balances and supply and emits Transfer events.
- **Energy**: The Tron resource that pays for smart contract execution, including every TRC-20 transfer. Accounts get it by staking or renting TRX; otherwise the network burns TRX to cover it.
- **Treasury balance**: USDT that Tether has minted but still holds in its own address, not yet issued to customers.
