**Question:** How much trades on Velodrome across OP Mainnet and the Superchain, and how much VELO has converted to the new AERO?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [DeFi](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/defi)
- Chains: OP Mainnet, Ink
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Velodrome launched on OP Mainnet in 2022 with a reworked version of the ve(3,3) design first tried by Solidly, the model Aerodrome later took to Base: liquidity providers earn VELO emissions, veVELO holders vote each week on where those emissions go, and voters collect the fees and incentives of the pools they choose. Built as OP Mainnet's central liquidity marketplace, it later spread to other OP Stack chains in the Superchain, sending emissions from OP Mainnet as a bridged token, XVELO.

In October 2026 Velodrome and Aerodrome merged into Aero. VELO converts into the new AERO token at a fixed ratio, and veVELO positions convert into staked AERO. This dashboard keeps Velodrome's own history and follows its pools through the change, chain by chain, with how much VELO has been converted and how much has not.

## Blueprint

### Chains

Velodrome's volume and liquidity on OP Mainnet and each Superchain chain.

- **Volume, latest day** (USD): Swap volume in Velodrome pools on every covered chain on the latest complete day.
- **TVL** (USD): Tokens held in Velodrome pools on every covered chain at the latest day's last block, valued at oracle prices or stablecoin legs.
- **OP Mainnet share** (%): OP Mainnet's share of Velodrome volume over the selected period, against the other Superchain chains.
- **Chains with live pools** (count): Superchain chains where Velodrome pools recorded swaps over the selected period, OP Mainnet included.
- **Volume by chain** (USD): Daily Velodrome volume over the period, stacked by chain.
- **Largest pools**: Each pool's chain, pair, type, volume, fees, liquidity and votes in its last epoch.

### Votes and conversion

Votes and emissions by epoch, and VELO's conversion to AERO.

- **VELO converted** (%): VELO converted into the new AERO as a share of VELO's circulating supply before the merger.
- **veVELO converted** (%): VELO locked in veVELO positions that have converted into staked AERO, as a share of all locked VELO.
- **Emissions by chain** (VELO): VELO emissions over the selected period, split between OP Mainnet gauges and the leaf gauges on each Superchain chain.
- **Voter rewards by epoch** (USD): Fees and incentives paid to veVELO voters in each epoch up to the merger.

Filters: Chain (OP Mainnet, each Superchain chain or all); Period (Last 7, 30 or 90 days).

## How it will be measured

- Volume and fees come from the Swap events of pools created by Velodrome's basic and concentrated-liquidity factories on OP Mainnet and each Superchain chain where it runs, and from Aero's factories on the same chains, valued at stablecoin legs or oracle prices.
- Root gauges on OP Mainnet and leaf gauges on other chains are read separately, and emissions are counted once, where a gauge pays them; XVELO bridged to a leaf chain is matched to the root gauge that sent it.
- Votes are read per weekly epoch, which starts on Thursday at 00:00 UTC, from the Voter contract on OP Mainnet, and voter fees and incentives from each pool's reward contracts on its own chain.
- VELO conversion is read from the migration contract's events: VELO deposited, new AERO received and veVELO positions converted, compared with VELO's circulating supply.

## Data it needs

- `dex_swaps_daily` (to build): Swap counts and volume per DEX, pool and chain per day, decoded from Swap events, valued with stablecoin legs and oracle prices.
- `dex_liquidity_daily` (to build): Liquidity held by each DEX pool at day end, in tokens and valued in USD, with fee tier and pool age.
- `governance_votes` (to build): Proposals, votes, voting power and turnout in on-chain governors, with off-chain votes recorded with their source.
- `token_supply_daily` (to build): Total supply of each registry token on each chain at day end: wrapped BTC, liquid staking tokens, tokenized assets and other tracked tokens.
- `bridge_flows_daily` (to build): Deposits into and withdrawals out of canonical and major third-party bridges by chain, token and day, plus escrow balances at day end.
- `protocol_revenue_daily` (to build): Fees users paid to each protocol and the part kept by the protocol or its token holders, per protocol and day, including buybacks.

## Questions

### What is Velodrome Finance?

A DEX on OP Mainnet and other Superchain chains built on the ve(3,3) model: VELO emissions reward liquidity, veVELO holders vote each week on where they go, and voters earn the trading fees and incentives of the pools they back. In October 2026 it merged with Aerodrome into Aero.

### What happens to VELO after the Aero merger?

VELO converts into the new AERO at a fixed ratio set by the merger, and veVELO positions convert into staked AERO. Some exchanges converted their customers' balances; self-custodied holders and veNFT holders use the protocol's own migration. The conversion tiles count VELO converted and VELO still waiting.

### How are Velodrome emissions sent to other chains?

Votes are cast on OP Mainnet, where root gauges receive VELO. For a pool on another Superchain chain, the root gauge wraps its VELO as XVELO and bridges it to that chain's leaf gauge, which pays the pool's stakers. The dashboard counts each emission once, at the leaf gauge.

### How does Velodrome differ from Aerodrome?

They share a design and a team. Velodrome ran on OP Mainnet and spread across the Superchain with XVELO, while Aerodrome ran on Base with its own token and votes. Each has its own dashboard because their pools, tokens and histories were separate until the merger.

### Why do veVELO voters earn the trading fees?

Because staked liquidity providers are paid in emissions instead. Fees from a pool go to whoever voted emissions to it, which rewards voters for backing pools that trade, and incentives offered by protocols add to what those voters earn.

## Glossary

- **XVELO**: A bridged form of VELO that carries emissions from root gauges on OP Mainnet to leaf gauges on other Superchain chains.
- **Superchain**: The group of chains built on the OP Stack that share standards and plan to share interoperability, OP Mainnet among them.
- **veVELO**: VELO locked for voting power over emissions, which earns the fees and incentives of the pools it votes for.
- **Root and leaf gauges**: A gauge pair: the root on OP Mainnet takes votes and emissions, and the leaf on another chain pays them to stakers there.
