**Question:** How busy is World Chain, and how much of its block space goes to verified humans through priority blockspace?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Layer 2s](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/layer-2)
- Chains: World Chain, Ethereum
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

World Chain is the OP Stack layer 2 of the World network, built for people verified with World ID and a member of the Superchain. This dashboard reads its blocks for daily transactions, active addresses and fees, along with what the chain pays Ethereum to post its data.

Its defining feature is Priority Blockspace for Humans. A transaction carrying a World ID proof is checked by the PBH entry point contract and placed at the top of the block by World Chain's block builder, and each World ID has a monthly allowance of these transactions, set in the contract. The dashboard counts them from the contract's events, with the share of each block's gas they use.

Many World App users also have their gas sponsored, through paymasters that pay for their smart account operations. The dashboard splits gas into sponsored and self-paid. World ID itself, its verifications and its identity tree, has its own dashboard.

## Blueprint

### Activity and gas

Transactions, active addresses and gas on World Chain, sponsored or self-paid.

- **Transactions, latest day** (count): Transactions in World Chain blocks on the latest complete UTC day, leaving out the L1 attributes deposit that opens each block.
- **Active addresses, latest day** (count): Distinct addresses that sent at least one transaction on World Chain on the latest complete UTC day.
- **Gas sponsored for users** (%): The share of gas used on the latest complete day by smart account operations whose gas a sponsor's paymaster paid.
- **Median transaction fee** (USD): The median fee paid per transaction on World Chain on the latest complete day, including the L1 data fee.
- **Transactions and active addresses by day** (count): Daily transactions and daily active addresses on World Chain over the selected period.

### Priority blockspace

Transactions sent through Priority Blockspace for Humans and the block space they use.

- **PBH transactions, latest day** (count): Operations verified by the PBH entry point on the latest complete UTC day, from its PBH events.
- **Accounts sending PBH transactions** (count): Distinct smart accounts that sent at least one PBH transaction on the latest complete UTC day.
- **PBH share of block gas** (%): Gas used by PBH transactions as a share of all gas used on World Chain on the latest complete day.
- **Monthly PBH allowance** (count): The number of PBH transactions each World ID may send per month, from the entry point's numPbhPerMonth setting, which counts from zero.
- **PBH transactions by day** (count): Daily PBH transactions and the accounts that sent them over the selected period.

Filters: Period (Last week, month, quarter or year).

## How it will be measured

- Transactions and active addresses are counted per UTC day from World Chain blocks, leaving out the L1 attributes deposit that opens each block.
- PBH transactions are counted from the PBH events of the PBH entry point contract, one per verified operation, with the block gas used by the transactions that carried them.
- The monthly allowance per World ID is read from the entry point's numPbhPerMonth setting at each block, and authorized builders from its BuilderAuthorized and BuilderDeauthorized events.
- Sponsored gas is the gas of smart account operations whose paymaster is a sponsor's contract, from the ERC-4337 EntryPoint's UserOperationEvent logs.
- Every figure names its World Chain or Ethereum block and the read behind it.

## Data it needs

- `chain_activity_daily` (to build): Transactions, active sending addresses, new addresses, contracts created and gas used on each chain per day, counted from blocks and transactions.
- `chain_fees_daily` (to build): Fees paid per chain per day in the native token: base fee and priority fee percentiles, total fees, and the share burned where the chain burns fees.
- `l2_activity_daily` (to build): Per layer 2 per day: transactions, active addresses, fees users paid on the L2, and what the L2 paid Ethereum to settle and post data.
- `account_abstraction_daily` (to build): ERC-4337 UserOperations, bundlers and paymasters, and EIP-7702 delegations per chain per day.
- Source: World Chain blocks and receipts: gas used, effective gas price, l1Fee and operator fee
- Source: PBH, NullifierHashesSpent, NumPbhPerMonthSet and builder authorization events of the PBH entry point contract
- Source: UserOperationEvent logs of the ERC-4337 EntryPoint on World Chain, with each operation's paymaster
- Source: World Chain batcher blob transactions and dispute game transactions on Ethereum
- Source: Chainlink ETH/USD at day-end blocks

## Questions

### What is Priority Blockspace for Humans?

It is World Chain's rule that transactions from people verified with World ID go to the top of the block. A transaction proves with a World ID proof that a unique human sent it, and the chain's block builder includes those first, so bots cannot crowd them out at busy moments.

### How many priority transactions can one person send?

Each World ID has a monthly allowance set in the PBH entry point contract. Each proof uses one of the month's numbered slots, and its nullifier is recorded so it cannot be used twice. The dashboard shows the current allowance and when it last changed.

### Does PBH reveal who sent a transaction?

No. A World ID proof shows that the sender is a verified unique human with allowance left this month, without revealing which person. The chain records a nullifier for each use, which cannot be linked back to an identity.

### Is World Chain part of the Superchain?

Yes. World Chain is built on the OP Stack, shares the Superchain's upgrades and pays the Superchain revenue share to the Optimism Collective. Gas on it is paid in ETH.

### Do World App users pay gas on World Chain?

Often not directly. Many World App transactions are sponsored through paymasters, so a sponsor's contract pays the gas. The dashboard splits gas into sponsored and self-paid, from the smart account operations that carried it.

## Glossary

- **World ID**: A proof-of-personhood credential that lets a person prove they are a unique human without revealing who they are.
- **Nullifier**: A one-time value derived from a World ID proof that marks the proof as used, without revealing whose it is.
- **Block builder**: The component that assembles a block's transactions and their order; World Chain's builder places verified human transactions first.
