**Question:** How many people have been verified with World ID, and how active are they on-chain?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Layer 1 chains](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/chains)
- Chains: World Chain, Ethereum, OP Mainnet
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

World ID is a proof-of-personhood credential: a person verifies once, usually with an Orb, and can then prove they are a unique human without revealing who they are. Each verification adds an identity commitment to a Merkle tree whose updates are recorded on Ethereum and whose roots are bridged to other chains. This dashboard counts those additions over time and follows how World App users act on World Chain.

The on-chain tree shows how many identities were added and removed, not who they belong to. World also publishes its own count of verified humans off-chain; the dashboard shows it beside the on-chain figures, labelled as a published number, so the two can be compared rather than mixed. Every on-chain figure is pinned to the block it was read at, with a receipt.

## Blueprint

### Identities

World ID identities added and removed over time, and root bridging.

- **Identities in the tree** (count): Identity commitments inserted into the World ID tree minus those deleted, at the latest Ethereum block read.
- **Identities added, last 30 days** (count): Identity commitments inserted in the last 30 days, summed from the tree's update batches.
- **Verified humans, as published** (count): The verified-humans count World publishes, shown with the date it was read: an off-chain figure.
- **Root bridging delay** (minutes): The median time between a new root on Ethereum and its arrival on World Chain over the last 30 days.
- **Identities added and removed by day** (count): Identity insertions and deletions per day from the tree's update batches, which shows waves of verification.

### World Chain

World App wallets, their activity and WLD grant claims.

- **World App wallets** (count): Safe wallets deployed on World Chain by World App's factory, in total at the latest block.
- **Active wallets, latest day** (count): Distinct World App wallets that sent at least one transaction on World Chain on the latest complete day.
- **World Chain transactions by day** (count): Daily transactions on World Chain, with the part sent by World App wallets.
- **WLD grant claims by period** (count): Claims in each WLD grant period and the WLD claimed, from the grant contracts' transfers.

Filters: Period (Last 30 or 90 days, the last year or all history).

## How it will be measured

- Identity additions are read from the World ID identity manager on Ethereum: each tree update event, with the number of identities inserted or deleted in its batch, summed per day.
- Root bridging is read from the World ID state bridge and the root records on World Chain and OP Mainnet, with the delay between a root on Ethereum and its arrival on each chain.
- World App activity counts Safe wallet deployments by the factory World App uses, and the distinct wallets sending transactions on World Chain per day.
- WLD grant claims are transfers from the grant contracts to wallets on World Chain, counted per claim period.
- The verified-humans count World publishes is an off-chain source, recorded with the date and page it was read from and never added to on-chain figures.

## Data it needs

- `chain_activity_daily` (to build): Transactions, active sending addresses, new addresses, contracts created and gas used on each chain per day, counted from blocks and transactions.
- `account_abstraction_daily` (to build): ERC-4337 UserOperations, bundlers and paymasters, and EIP-7702 delegations per chain per day.
- `airdrop_claims` (to build): Claims from airdrop distributor contracts: eligible amount, claimed amount, claimers and what they did next.
- `token_transfers_daily` (to build): ERC-20 and native transfer counts, volume and unique senders and receivers per token per chain per day.
- Source: World ID identity manager on Ethereum: tree update events and the size of each insertion or deletion batch
- Source: World ID state bridge and root records on World Chain and OP Mainnet
- Source: Safe wallet factory deployments by World App on World Chain, and their daily senders
- Source: WLD grant contract transfers on World Chain, per claim period
- Source: The verified-humans count World publishes on its own site, recorded with the date it was read (off-chain)

## Questions

### How many people are verified with World ID?

The dashboard shows two counts: identities in the on-chain World ID tree (additions minus deletions) and the number World publishes itself. They can differ, because the published count follows World's own rules for who counts as a verified unique human.

### What is proof of personhood?

A way to show that an account belongs to a real, unique person without revealing who that person is. World ID does this with a one-time biometric check and zero-knowledge proofs, so apps can allow one account per person.

### What is World Chain?

A layer 2 network built on the OP Stack that settles to Ethereum, launched by the team behind World. World App wallets live on it, and transactions from verified humans can be given priority over automated traffic.

### Does the chain reveal who is verified?

No. The tree holds identity commitments, not names, images or iris data, and a proof shows only that its sender belongs to the tree. The dashboard counts commitments and wallets and never links them to people.

### What are WLD grants?

Periodic WLD distributions that verified World App users can claim. Claims are on-chain transfers, so their number and size can be counted per period without knowing who claimed.

## Glossary

- **Identity commitment**: A hash added to the World ID tree when a person verifies; it proves membership without revealing the person.
- **Merkle root**: A single hash that summarizes the whole tree of identities; bridging it lets other chains check proofs.
- **Orb**: World's device that checks a person is a unique human with an iris scan, then issues their World ID credential.
- **State bridge**: The contracts that copy the World ID tree's latest root from Ethereum to another chain.
