# x402 Facilitators and Paid Services Ranked

> x402 facilitators ranked by payments settled and USDC volume, beside the paid services (payTo addresses) that receive the most, split by chain.

**Question:** Which x402 facilitators settle the most payments, and which services earn the most?

- Kind: Table in Voltfin Strata
- Topic: [AI and agents](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/ai-agents)
- Chains: Multi-chain, Base, Solana, Polygon, Avalanche
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

Every x402 payment is settled by a facilitator: the service that checks the buyer's signed payment and submits it to the chain. This table ranks facilitators by the payments they settle and the value they move, and ranks the receiving addresses, the paid services, by what they collect, all counted from settlement transactions.

A facilitator's on-chain footprint is its sending addresses, so the ranking starts from the addresses each facilitator publishes or that public x402 listings attribute to it, recorded with the source. Services are identified by their payTo addresses; a name is shown only where a public listing links it to an address.

Filter by role to see facilitators or paid services, filter by chain, sort by payments or volume and open any row to see the addresses and settlement transactions behind it.

## Blueprint

One row: One row per facilitator or paid service per chain, over the last 30 days

- **Name** (`name`): The facilitator's or service's name from its own documentation or a public x402 listing, or the address where none is published.
- **Role** (`role`): Facilitator, for addresses that submit settlements, or paid service, for payTo addresses that receive them.
- **Chain** (`chain`): The chain the row's settlements happened on.
- **Payments, 30 days** (`payments_30d`): x402 settlements submitted (facilitators) or received (services) over the last 30 days.
- **Volume, 30 days** (`volume_30d`, USDC): The face value of the same settlements.
- **Share of payments** (`share`): The row's payments as a share of all x402 payments counted on the same chain.
- **Counterparties** (`counterparties`): Distinct services a facilitator settled for, or distinct payers that paid a service.
- **Median payment** (`median_payment`, USDC): The median settlement amount over the same period.
- **First seen** (`first_seen`): The date of the row's first x402 settlement.
- **Addresses** (`addresses`): The addresses attributed to the row, with the source of each attribution.
- **Receipt** (`receipt`): The blocks, hashes and logs behind the row's figures.

## How it will be measured

- A facilitator's payments are USDC transferWithAuthorization (EIP-3009) settlements sent from its addresses on EVM chains, and SPL transfers on Solana where it pays the fee, over the last 30 days.
- Facilitator addresses come from the facilitators' own documentation and public x402 listings, recorded with their source; each address is attributed to one facilitator only.
- A paid service is a payTo address that received x402 settlements; its name appears only where a public listing names that address, and otherwise the row shows the address itself.
- Volume is the face value of the settled stablecoin payments; shares divide each row's payments by all x402 payments counted on the same chain.
- Every row carries a receipt: the blocks, transaction hashes and logs it was counted from.

## Data it needs

- `agent_payments_daily` (to build): Agent tokens (supply, holders, trading) and agent payments such as x402 settlements in stablecoins, per day.
- `address_labels` (to build): Labels for known addresses: exchanges, bridges, protocols, funds, treasuries, sanctioned addresses and known attackers.
- Source: Transactions submitting EIP-3009 transferWithAuthorization on USDC, grouped by sending address (facilitator)
- Source: payTo (recipient) addresses with payment counts and USDC totals
- Source: Facilitator and service labels from public x402 listings and facilitators' own documentation (labels only, off-chain)
- Source: Solana SPL transfers grouped by fee payer

## Questions

### What does an x402 facilitator do?

It verifies that a signed x402 payment is valid and covers the price, submits it to the chain and pays the gas, then tells the seller the payment has settled. Sellers can run their own facilitator or use a hosted one.

### Do x402 facilitators hold the funds?

Not in the exact scheme on EVM chains: the buyer signs a transfer straight to the seller's payTo address, and the facilitator only submits it. The table counts each payment under the facilitator that sent it and the address that received it.

### How are x402 services identified?

By the payTo address in each settlement. Many services publish their address in their x402 payment requirements or in public directories; where one does, its name is shown; otherwise the address stands alone.

### Why might a facilitator's share look different elsewhere?

Shares depend on which addresses are attributed to each facilitator, which chains and tokens are counted and the period chosen. This table lists the addresses behind every facilitator row, so its shares can be checked.

### Can anyone become an x402 facilitator?

Yes. The x402 specification is open, and anyone can run a facilitator for the networks and tokens they choose to support. A new facilitator appears in the table once its addresses are published and it settles payments.

## Glossary

- **Facilitator**: The x402 service that verifies a signed payment and settles it on-chain, paying the gas.
- **payTo address**: The address in a seller's x402 payment requirements that receives the stablecoin when a payment settles.
- **Exact scheme**: The x402 payment scheme in which the buyer pays a fixed price, signed as a stablecoin transfer to the seller.
