**Question:** How active is the XRP Ledger in payments, new accounts and AMM pools?

- Kind: Dashboard in Voltfin Vantage
- Topic: [Layer 1 chains](https://voltfincrypto.com/topics/chains)
- Chains: XRP Ledger
- Status: Planned. The data is not published yet, so this page states no figure; each figure will open its receipt when it is.

The XRP Ledger records every transaction with its type, so its use can be read directly: payments, offers on its built-in exchange, deposits into AMM pools, trust lines for issued currencies and escrows. This dashboard counts each type per day from validated ledgers, adds up what payments actually delivered, counts accounts funded for the first time and tracks the AMM pools and the XRP destroyed as fees.

Use it to see what drives activity on the ledger: payments between accounts, trading on the exchange or issued currencies such as RLUSD. Payment amounts come from each transaction's delivered amount rather than its stated amount, and every daily figure is pinned to the validated ledgers it was read from.

## Blueprint

### Activity

Transactions by type, payments, new accounts and fees per day.

- **Transactions, latest day** (count): Successful transactions in validated ledgers closing on the latest complete UTC day.
- **Payments, latest day** (count): Successful Payment transactions on the latest complete day, in XRP and issued currencies.
- **New accounts, latest day** (count): Accounts funded for the first time on the latest complete day, from the AccountRoot objects created.
- **XRP destroyed as fees** (XRP): The sum of the Fee field of every transaction on the latest complete day, which the ledger destroys.
- **Transactions by type** (count): Daily transactions split by type: payments, offers, AMM deposits and withdrawals, trust lines, escrows and the rest.
- **Payments delivered by currency**: Value delivered by payments each day in XRP and in the main issued currencies such as RLUSD, each in its own unit.
- **New accounts by day** (count): Accounts funded for the first time each day, which shows waves of onboarding or of automated account creation.

### AMM and exchange

AMM pools and trading on the ledger's built-in exchange.

- **AMM pools** (count): AMM ledger objects in the day's last validated ledger, each a pool of two assets.
- **AMM transactions, latest day** (count): AMMCreate, AMMDeposit, AMMWithdraw, AMMBid and AMMVote transactions on the latest complete day.
- **Offers and AMM activity by day** (count): OfferCreate and OfferCancel transactions and AMM transactions per day, the two ways the ledger's exchange is used.

Filters: Period (Last 30 days, 90 days or a year); Currency (XRP or any issued currency with payments in the period).

## How it will be measured

- Transactions are counted by TransactionType (Payment, OfferCreate, AMMDeposit, AMMWithdraw, TrustSet, EscrowFinish and the rest) across validated ledgers closing in each UTC day, with successful and failed results kept apart.
- Payment volume uses the delivered_amount in each transaction's metadata, which can be lower than the Amount field on partial payments, split into XRP and each issued currency.
- New accounts are AccountRoot objects created in the day, read from the CreatedNode entries in transaction metadata.
- AMM pools are the AMM ledger objects in the day's last validated ledger, with their asset balances read through amm_info.
- The XRP destroyed is the sum of the Fee field of every transaction, which the ledger burns rather than pays to validators; each figure carries a receipt with the ledger index and hash.

## Data it needs

- `chain_activity_daily` (to build): Transactions, active sending addresses, new addresses, contracts created and gas used on each chain per day, counted from blocks and transactions.
- `chain_fees_daily` (to build): Fees paid per chain per day in the native token: base fee and priority fee percentiles, total fees, and the share burned where the chain burns fees.
- `payments_volume_daily` (to build): Stablecoin payment flows that look like payments rather than trading: merchant and payroll transfers, card settlements and remittance corridors, per chain and day.
- `dex_swaps_daily` (to build): Swap counts and volume per DEX, pool and chain per day, decoded from Swap events, valued with stablecoin legs and oracle prices.
- `dex_liquidity_daily` (to build): Liquidity held by each DEX pool at day end, in tokens and valued in USD, with fee tier and pool age.
- Source: Validated ledgers: TransactionType and TransactionResult of every transaction, per UTC day
- Source: Transaction metadata: delivered_amount of Payment transactions, in XRP and issued currencies
- Source: CreatedNode entries with LedgerEntryType AccountRoot, for newly funded accounts
- Source: ledger_data of type amm at the day's last validated ledger, and amm_info for pool balances
- Source: The Fee field of every transaction, for the XRP destroyed

## Questions

### How many transactions does the XRP Ledger process each day?

The dashboard shows the daily count from validated ledgers, split by transaction type. The split matters: payments, exchange offers and AMM activity are different kinds of use, and offers that are placed and cancelled can raise the total without any value moving.

### What happens to XRP Ledger fees?

Every transaction pays a small transaction cost in XRP that is destroyed, not paid to validators. The cost exists to make spam expensive, and it slowly lowers the total XRP in existence as the ledger is used.

### What is the XRP Ledger AMM?

An automated market maker built into the ledger itself, added by the AMM amendment. Each pool holds two assets, and liquidity providers deposit and withdraw with dedicated transaction types, so pool activity can be read without decoding any smart contract.

### What is RLUSD?

A US dollar stablecoin issued by Ripple on the XRP Ledger and on Ethereum. On the ledger it is an issued currency held through trust lines, so its payments and holders can be counted like any other issued asset.

### What is a partial payment?

A payment flagged so it may deliver less than its stated amount when the path cannot deliver it in full. Counting the Amount field would overstate volume, so the dashboard uses the delivered amount recorded in metadata.

## Glossary

- **Validated ledger**: A ledger version the network's validators agreed on; the transactions in it are final.
- **Trust line**: A link between two accounts that lets one hold a currency issued by the other, such as a stablecoin.
- **Delivered amount**: The amount a payment actually delivered to its destination, recorded in the transaction's metadata.
- **Account reserve**: The XRP an account must keep to exist on the ledger and for each object it owns; it is locked, not destroyed.
