# Payments

> Crypto as money that moves: stablecoin payments, remittance corridors, merchant flows and the chains built for payments.

Stablecoins move as payments, not only as trades: payroll, remittances, merchant settlement and card spending. The apps here separate payment-like transfers from exchange and DeFi activity, by chain and by corridor, from the transfers themselves.

Chains built for stablecoin payments appear beside general-purpose chains, measured the same way, so their volumes compare fairly.
