# Staking and restaking

> Staking and restaking: liquid staking tokens and their real yields, validator sets, restaked assets and staking ratios across proof-of-stake networks.

Staking secures proof-of-stake chains and pays a yield, but the advertised rate and the realized one often differ. The apps here measure what liquid staking and restaking tokens actually earned, from their exchange rates at two pinned blocks, alongside validator sets and staking ratios.

Restaking adds another layer: assets delegated to operators that secure other services. Deposits, operators and services are read from the protocols' own contracts.
