The crypto fear and greed index is a published sentiment score on a scale from 0 to 100, where low readings mean extreme fear and high readings mean extreme greed. Its publisher combines measures such as volatility, momentum, trading volume and social activity into one number each day, and many traders check it to judge the market's mood.
This dashboard records the published reading each day with its source, and sets it beside readings taken from the chain on the same days: perpetual funding rates and open interest, long and short liquidations and the bitcoin and ether moving into and out of exchange wallets. Those on-chain readings come with receipts, so a reader can see what the market was doing when the index said fear or greed.
The index is a description of mood, not a forecast. Use it to place today's reading against past extremes, and use the on-chain readings to check whether leverage and flows agree with it.
Every figure will be read at a block, kept with its source and its exact read, and open a receipt anyone can re-check.

It is a daily sentiment score from 0 to 100 that combines market measures such as volatility, momentum and trading activity. Low readings are labelled fear or extreme fear, and high readings greed or extreme greed.
Extreme fear is the lowest band of the index. It usually follows sharp price falls, high volatility and heavy selling. It describes the mood of recent days; it does not say what prices will do next.
Its publisher combines several weighted inputs (typically volatility, momentum and volume, social activity and bitcoin dominance) and scales the result from 0 to 100. The weights belong to the publisher; this dashboard records the published value and shows on-chain readings beside it.
This dashboard shows an on-chain composite built only from published chain data: funding rates, liquidations, exchange flows and stablecoin issuance. Every component is shown, so the composite can be checked and recomputed.
The published index updates once a day. The on-chain readings beside it are computed for each UTC day from blocks, and the latest day fills in as its blocks are indexed.
