About

What it answers, and for whom.

US spot ether ETFs hold ETH for their shareholders, and they differ in more than size: each charges its own sponsor fee and uses its own custodian, and some stake part of their ETH to earn rewards for shareholders. This table lists every fund with those facts side by side.

Holdings come from the files each issuer publishes daily, and fees and staking terms from each fund's prospectus and filings. ETH held is also shown as a share of ether supply, rebuilt on-chain from validator issuance minus burned base fees, so the denominator can be checked. Sort by ETH held or by fee, filter to the funds that stake and open any row to see the files behind it.

Method

How it will be measured.

Every figure will be read at a block, kept with its source and its exact read, and open a receipt anyone can re-check.

How receipts work →
  1. ETH held is each fund's holdings from its issuer's latest daily file, recorded with its as-of date, its source and the time it was retrieved.
  2. Sponsor fees, fee waivers and staking terms come from each fund's prospectus and later filings, with the filing date shown.
  3. Staked share is the portion of holdings a fund reports as staked; funds that do not report it are labelled, never shown as zero.
  4. Share of supply divides ETH held by ether supply at the as-of date, from issuance to validators minus burned base fees, and USD value uses the Chainlink ETH/USD price at the same time.

Questions

Questions people ask.

How much ETH do ETFs hold?

The table adds up the ETH held by every US spot ether ETF from their latest files and shows the total as a share of ether supply. Each fund's figure links to the file it came from.

Which Ethereum ETFs stake their ETH?

Funds whose filings allow staking say so in their prospectus and report how much of their ETH is staked. The table marks each fund as staking or not from its latest filing, and shows the staked share where it is reported.

What is a sponsor fee?

The annual fee a fund charges, taken from its assets as a share of their value. Some funds waive it for a period or up to a size; the table shows the fee and any waiver from the latest filing.

Do staking ETFs pay out staking rewards?

It depends on the fund. Rewards may be added to the fund's assets, which raises its value per share, and the fund or its staking provider may keep part of them as a fee. Each fund's filing sets the terms.

Sponsor fee
The annual fee an ETF charges its shareholders, deducted from the fund's assets.
Staking ETF
An ETF whose filings allow it to stake part of its ETH with validators and earn rewards for the fund.
Fee waiver
A period or asset level during which a fund charges less than its stated fee.
