Value on covered L2s
USDTotal value secured across covered layer 2s at the latest day-end block, priced tokens only.
How much value is locked on each Ethereum layer 2, and how much of it sits in canonical bridges on Ethereum?
Value on each Ethereum layer 2, split into its canonical bridge on Ethereum, other bridges and tokens minted natively on the layer 2.
The dashboard as it will open in Vantage. Each figure is named here and arrives with its receipt; until its data is published, its place stays empty.
Value on every covered layer 2 and how it splits by source.
Total value secured across covered layer 2s at the latest day-end block, priced tokens only.
The share of that value locked in the rollups' canonical bridges on Ethereum.
The share of that value brought in through third-party bridges.
The share of that value minted directly on the layer 2s by their issuers.
Each covered layer 2's value at the latest read, split into canonically bridged, externally bridged and natively minted.
One layer 2's value over time, by source and by asset.
The chosen layer 2's value secured at the latest day-end block.
The change in the chosen layer 2's value against thirty days earlier, from the same reads.
The chosen layer 2's value by asset group: ETH and liquid staking tokens, stablecoins, wrapped bitcoin and other tokens.
The chosen layer 2's value at each day-end block, split into canonically bridged, externally bridged and natively minted.
Layer 2 TVL is the value of the assets held on each Ethereum layer 2. This dashboard measures it by where those assets come from: tokens locked in the rollup's canonical bridge on Ethereum, tokens brought in through other bridges and tokens minted natively on the layer 2, each read at day-end blocks.
The split matters. Assets in the canonical bridge are secured by the rollup's own contracts and proofs. Externally bridged tokens depend on another bridge's verifiers, and natively minted tokens on their issuer. A chain can hold a large total with little of it in its canonical bridge.
Values use on-chain price feeds where they exist and a recorded price source otherwise. Tokens with neither are counted in token units and left out of the USD total, which the dashboard says beside every figure.
Every figure will be read at a block, kept with its source and its exact read, and open a receipt anyone can re-check.
How receipts work →Chain data, with some off-chain sources
The total value of the assets on a layer 2: everything bridged in from Ethereum or other chains plus tokens minted on the layer 2 itself. It differs from DeFi TVL, which counts only what is deposited in DeFi apps.
Canonically bridged assets are locked in the rollup's own bridge on Ethereum and can be withdrawn through its proof system. Externally bridged assets arrive through a third-party bridge, so their safety rests on that bridge's verifiers and contracts rather than on the rollup's.
Circle issues USDC directly on several layer 2s and moves it between chains by burning it on one and minting it on another. No escrow on Ethereum backs those tokens; the issuer does, so they count as natively minted rather than bridged.
The dashboard ranks covered layer 2s by their value at the latest day-end block, with the split for each, so the answer follows the latest reads rather than a fixed claim.
