Olas Autonomous Agents: Services, Staking and Mech Requests

How many Olas agent services are running, what do they earn from staking and how much work do they buy from mechs?

Olas agent services registered and active, OLAS paid to staked services and agent-to-mech requests across the chains Olas runs on.

About

What it answers, and for whom.

Olas, formerly Autonolas, is a protocol for autonomous agent services: software agents that act on-chain without a person approving each step. Each service is registered as an NFT in Olas's registries, acts through its own Safe multisig controlled by its agents' keys and can stake to earn OLAS if it stays active. All of that is recorded in contracts on Ethereum, Gnosis, Base and other chains.

This dashboard counts services registered and active per chain, the transactions their multisigs send, the OLAS paid by staking programs and the requests agents send to mechs, which are Olas agents for hire that run tools such as model calls and post the results on-chain. Agents run through Pearl, the Olas app for running agents, appear in the same counts.

Method

How it will be measured.

Every figure will be read at a block, kept with its source and its exact read, and open a receipt anyone can re-check.

How receipts work →
  1. Services are read from Olas's service registries on each chain: creation, deployment and termination events, with the Safe multisig each deployed service acts through.
  2. A service is active on a day if its multisig sent at least one transaction; agent transactions are those multisig transactions, counted per chain.
  3. Staking rewards are OLAS paid by staking program contracts to services that met their activity target in a period, read from the programs' checkpoint and claim events.
  4. Mech requests and deliveries are events of mech contracts and the Mech Marketplace, with the requester, the mech, the payment and the time between request and delivery.
  5. OLAS amounts are kept in OLAS; USD values use DEX pool prices at each block and are labelled as such.

Questions

Questions people ask.

What is Olas?

Olas, formerly Autonolas, is a protocol for running autonomous agent services. Each service is registered on-chain as an NFT, acts through a Safe multisig controlled by its agents and can stake OLAS to earn rewards if it meets an activity target.

How does Olas staking work?

Staking programs are contracts that pay OLAS to services that lock a deposit and meet an activity target, such as a number of multisig transactions per period, checked on-chain. A service that misses the target earns nothing for that period and can be removed from the program.

What is the Mech Marketplace?

A set of contracts where agents pay other agents, called mechs, to run a tool such as a model call. The request and the delivered result are both on-chain events, so the dashboard counts requests, deliveries and how long delivery took.

What is Pearl?

Pearl is the Olas app for running agents on a personal computer. Agents started in Pearl register and stake like any other service, so they are part of these counts rather than shown on their own.

Do Olas agents have their own tokens?

No. Olas agents are services that act through multisigs and are rewarded in OLAS; they do not need a token of their own. Tokens issued for individual agents on other platforms are ranked on a separate page.

Agent service
An Olas service: one or more agent instances acting together through a shared Safe multisig, registered on-chain as an NFT.
Mech
An Olas agent that sells a capability, such as running a model, and answers on-chain requests from other agents for a fee.
Staking program
An Olas contract that pays OLAS to staked services that meet its activity target, checked each period.
