Solana Liquid Staking Tokens Compared: JitoSOL, mSOL, jupSOL, INF

How do Solana's liquid staking tokens compare on yield, fees and the SOL behind them?

Every Solana liquid staking token side by side: SOL staked, exchange rate, realized yield, fee, validators and the yield from MEV tips.

About

What it answers, and for whom.

Solana has dozens of liquid staking tokens: JitoSOL, mSOL, jupSOL, INF, exchange tokens such as BNSOL and single-validator tokens launched through Sanctum. This table compares them on what holders actually get: the SOL staked behind each token, its exchange rate, the yield it realized over recent epochs, the fee it takes and the share of its rewards that came from MEV tips.

Most of these tokens run on the same SPL stake pool program, so their differences come from settings and choices rather than code: which validators they delegate to, what fee they charge and whether their stake accounts collect MEV tips and shared priority fees. Marinade runs its own program, and Sanctum's Infinity pool holds other LSTs rather than stake directly, so their rows say so.

Sort by SOL staked to see the largest or by realized APY to compare returns. Filter by program to compare tokens built the same way. Every cell is read at an epoch boundary and opens its receipt.

Method

How it will be measured.

Every figure will be read at a block, kept with its source and its exact read, and open a receipt anyone can re-check.

How receipts work →
  1. Each pool's total lamports, token supply, fee settings and validator list are read from its program accounts after every epoch update.
  2. Realized APY compounds the change in each token's exchange rate over the last ten epochs, using epoch timestamps from the chain to annualize.
  3. The tip share compares SOL claimed from tip distribution accounts by the pool's stake accounts with the inflation rewards credited to them in the same epoch.
  4. Tokens that hold other tokens, such as INF, are left out of the share column so no SOL is counted twice.

Questions

Questions people ask.

How do Solana liquid staking tokens differ?

In which validators they delegate to, the fee they take, whether they pass on MEV tips and priority fees and how they are redeemed. Their realized yields therefore differ even though all of them earn from the same staking rewards.

What is a Sanctum LST?

Sanctum lets a validator or project launch its own liquid staking token on a stake pool it controls, and links those tokens through its Infinity pool so they can be swapped into each other. INF is the token of that pool, which holds a basket of other LSTs.

Why do LST yields differ?

Validators earn different amounts: some vote and produce blocks more reliably, some charge higher commission and some share more MEV tips and priority fees with their stakers. A pool's own fee comes on top. The table shows the realized yield after all of these.

How do I redeem a Solana LST for SOL?

Either swap it on the market at once or withdraw through its program: SPL stake pools let holders withdraw a stake account that unlocks at the next epoch, and Marinade offers delayed unstake tickets and an instant pool. The program column says which route each token has.

Is INF counted twice?

No. Because Infinity holds other LSTs, its SOL already sits inside those tokens' stake accounts. The table lists INF but leaves its SOL out of the share column, so nothing is counted twice.

SPL stake pool
Solana's standard program for pooling stake across validators and issuing a token for it; most Solana LSTs run on it.
Single-validator LST
A liquid staking token whose pool delegates to one validator, often launched by that validator through Sanctum.
Infinity pool
Sanctum's pool that holds many LSTs and issues INF, letting holders swap between LSTs through it.
Epoch
Solana's staking period, about two days long, at whose boundaries rewards are paid and stake changes take effect.
