  1. Solana this month in brief

The month's main changes in activity, fees, staking and trading, and what drove each of them.

    • Non-vote transactions
    • Active wallets
    • REV
  2. Activity and wallets

Non-vote transactions, the failed share, active and new wallets and the programs that used the most compute.

    • Failed transaction share
    • New wallets
    • Top programs by compute
  3. Fees, tips and burn

Base fees, priority fees and Jito tips paid, the part burned and the busiest days and hours for fees.

    • Priority fees
    • Jito tips
    • SOL burned
  4. Staking and issuance

SOL staked at month end, the staking ratio, new issuance, the liquid staking share and how stake moved between validators.

    • SOL staked
    • SOL issued
    • Liquid staking share
  5. DEXs, launches and stablecoins

DEX volume by program and the tokens launched and graduated, with stablecoin supply and transfers on Solana.

    • DEX volume
    • Tokens launched

  6. What changed on the network

Client releases, protocol changes adopted and any outages or degraded slots, with the epochs in which they took effect.

About

What it answers, and for whom.

Solana moves fast enough that one month can change its picture: a launchpad takes off, priority fees jump with a trading wave, stake shifts between validators. This report records each month in one dated edition, with every figure read from the chain and pinned to a slot: activity, what users paid, staking and issuance, trading and stablecoins.

It is written for people who follow Solana closely and want the month's facts in one place: validators, stakers, app teams, traders and researchers. Each section states the change from last month and names what drove it, and its figures link to the live dashboards and their receipts for anyone who wants to go deeper.

Solana's numbers need care. Vote transactions inflate raw counts, failed transactions still pay fees and bots account for much of the activity, so the report states each definition next to its figure and keeps vote and non-vote activity apart.

Method

How it will be measured.

Every figure will be read at a block, kept with its source and its exact read, and open a receipt anyone can re-check.

How receipts work →
  1. Activity counts non-vote transactions, with successful and failed ones apart, and the wallets that signed at least one in the month, from every block in the month's slots.
  2. Fees are read per transaction as base and priority fees, Jito tips from transfers to Jito's tip accounts and the burn as half of base fees.
  3. Staking figures come from stake accounts at the month's last epoch boundary, and issuance from the epoch reward records inside the month.
  4. DEX volume and launches come from decoded swap and launchpad program instructions; stablecoin supply is each mint's supply at the month's last slot.

  • chain_activity_dailyTo buildChain activity by dayTransactions, active sending addresses, new addresses, contracts created and gas used on each chain per day, counted from blocks and transactions.
  • chain_fees_dailyTo buildFees and gas by chainFees paid per chain per day in the native token: base fee and priority fee percentiles, total fees, and the share burned where the chain burns fees.
  • staking_networks_dailyTo buildProof-of-stake networksStaked supply, staking ratio, validators and nominal rewards per proof-of-stake network per day.
  • dex_swaps_dailyTo buildDEX volumeSwap counts and volume per DEX, pool and chain per day, decoded from Swap events, valued with stablecoin legs and oracle prices.
  • token_launches_dailyTo buildToken launchesNew tokens deployed per chain and launchpad per day, how many reached a DEX pool, and how many were abandoned.
  • stablecoin_flows_dailyTo buildStablecoin mints, burns and transfersStablecoin mints, burns, transfer volume and active addresses per stablecoin and chain per day.
  • Every Solana block in the month: transactions, signers, fees, compute units and status
  • SOL transfers to Jito's tip accounts
  • Stake accounts and epoch reward records at epoch boundaries
  • Decoded swap and launchpad program instructions
  • Stablecoin mint supply at the month's last slot
Questions

Questions people ask.

When is each edition published?

Shortly after each month ends in UTC, once its last slots are finalized and the epoch data is complete. Every figure is pinned to a slot before the publication date, so later activity always appears in the next edition.

Why separate vote and non-vote transactions?

Validators send vote transactions to take part in consensus, and they make up a large part of all Solana transactions. They say little about how people use the chain, so the report measures user activity from non-vote transactions and shows votes apart.

Why count failed transactions?

Failed transactions still use block space and pay fees, and many come from bots racing for the same trade, where most attempts lose. The report gives the failed share each month because it explains part of the gap between transactions and real use.

How does the report treat memecoin activity?

Launchpad activity is counted like any other: tokens launched, those that reached a DEX and their trading volume. It has its own section, so a launch wave shows up as a cause when activity or fees jump.

How does this differ from the Solana vs Ethereum report?

That report compares the two chains on matched definitions. This one goes deeper into Solana alone, including staking, launches and stablecoins, and both use the same underlying reads.

Epoch
A run of slots on Solana, about two days long, at whose boundary stake changes take effect and rewards are paid.
Non-vote transaction
Any Solana transaction other than validators' consensus votes; the usual measure of user activity.
Stake account
An account that holds delegated SOL and points it at a validator, earning that validator's rewards minus its commission.
